Friends, greetings in Jesus Name! Today, I will be sharing with you on what I title, “Redeeming the Time”.

There is one thing that God gave equally to everyone of us without partiality; and that is time. We all have equal time of 24 hours in a day and no one is deprived of it. We can only deprive ourselves when we lack the proper management and effective use of it. How we use our time determines the result we expect to achieve – either success or failure. It’s a choice. No wonder Jesus declared, “I must work the works of Him that sent me, while it is day; the night comes, when no man can work” (John 9:4). Every man and woman living under the surface of this earth has his or her day and night season. The problem with many people is that they try to accomplish in the night what they ought to accomplish in the day. This is the big dilemma facing a lot of people today due to not redeeming their time properly. The book of 1 Chronicles 12:32 say, “And of the children of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do.” Really, we make God proud when we know what to do with the times and seasons He has given to us. Unfortunately, I have come across countless people wishing to re-live their lives so they can accomplish what they failed to have done early in life. The fact is that, it’s too late for some of them. You do not start preparing for track and field event to compete with Usain Bolt when you’re at 50. Nursing such a dream is practically impossible. Or would I say foolishness! In life there is a time and season for everything. Every moment of your life is timed to accomplish one thing or the other. Failing to key into that season becomes a problem. For instance, there are ladies who have many suitors asking their hands for marriage but refuse. After a while, they realize men do not come around them any longer. What happened? It’s a season! Please, do not get me wrong. It’s right for a lady or man to make good selection in marriage, as long as you are guided by God. But when you allow yourself to be blinded only by your physical senses, then there is a problem, as we can see many paying dearly for it today. Therefore, it becomes so important that you understand your times and seasons of life, and then launch out, by doing what is required of you in that moment. Psalm 90:12 says, “Teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.” The above scripture talks about the importance of your timing here on earth, so you must apply wisdom in using it judiciously to accomplish the given task assigned to you by God. You may be cajoled into thinking you have all the time to do all you want, and then relax, only to realize you have wasted your whole life achieving nothing. If I may ask you: What do you do with your time? You see, time is the longest and yet the shortest thing in the world. It is the swiftest and yet the slowest, the most divisible and the most extended. It is the least valued and the most regretted, without which nothing can be done. It is the most perishable commodity and its supply is limited to only 24 hours. Not redeeming your time is one major monster against achieving personal goals. Some say, there is no time. This is a lie; you only have time for what you create time for, and what you consider very important. As noted by Charles Buxton “You will never ‘find’ time for anything. If you want time you must make it”. It is your personal responsibility to make time for what you want to achieve in life. Developing a mental consciousness of “no time to waste” should put a spring in your feet to work doggedly in achieving all your set goals before the night comes on you. Redeeming your time will effectively help you achieve greatness. Time is a key factor to fulfilling your destiny. Your all round success in anything can only be attributed to your wise use of time. Time does not wait for anybody. Whether you are working, sleeping, or playing, the time is in motion ticking towards eternity. Remember, “Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time” (Colossians 4:5). Therefore, if you truly want to unleash your potential, achieve set goals, and fulfill your assignment here on earth, then you must redeem the time in your hands. With love, Elvis!
