Friends, greetings in Jesus Name! Today I will be sharing with you on what I title, “Entering Into God’s Rest”. Sometime ago, God began dealing with me regarding exerting my own strength to make things happen. Overtime, I realized that the more I labour – hoping that my ideas, calculations, and connections – will make it work, the more frustrated I became. Then I kept asking myself: But I have done everything humanly possible to achieve results, so why is success eluding me? The Bible says, “For whom the Lord loves He chastens” (Hebrew 12:6). I learnt a bitter lesson from my experience to never think I know what to do regarding any situation without seeking God’s counsel. Presently, the whole world is in a dire state of unrest and dilemma, plagued by a virus that is mind boggling. Some nations are so confused, not knowing which way to go. Their busineses shut down, and the citizens have been quarantined in their houses. But in all these, heaven still has a word to those who are connected to God. Encouraging His disciples, Jesus said to them, “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world you shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33). Really, when you tune in to heaven’s frequency, and receive fresh word from God, it doesn’t matter what the raging situation is all about – be it Covid 19 or whatsoever – you will definitely be at rest. Why? Because the Almighty God has spoken.
The Lord wants us to enter into His rest. That means, “To Recognize that He is in charge and in control over every situation patterning to our lives, and then rest in His presence without any form of worry or anxiety.” Jesus said, “Come unto me all you that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matt.11:28). I heard a story of a young man who was going through some challenges. One day while walking by a street, he came across a huge gate with his name written boldly on it. Wondering what that could be, he decided to open the gate. He held the handle and kept pushing, but the gate refused to open. Just beside the gate was an old man sitting and watching his fruitless efforts. Then the old man said to him: “Boy! Pay attention to what is written on the gate”. Rather than listen to the elderly man, he kept pushing the gate until he became exhausted. It was at this point he decided to try the old man’s counsel. At the gate was written: “Do not Push, just Pull”. Unfortunately, this is a sad situation many people find themselves today. Instead of following the instruction by pulling, they keep pushing in vain. The Bible says, “For by strength shall no man prevail” (1 Samuel 2:9). And Proverbs 4:20 says, “My son, attend to my words; incline your ear to my sayings.” You see, God designed man to have rest on all sides without struggles.
According Pastor Rick Joyner, “Because man was created at the end of the sixth day, his first full day was the seventh day of creation, the day God rested.” Meaning, God ushered man into His rest. God ensured that creation was ready before the emergence of man on earth. Why? God didn’t want man to be created when the earth was still void and without form. He ensured that the sun, the moon, the star, the animals and plants were all made, so that man will have uninterrupted fellowship with Him. God’s desire for you and me is to enjoy life in abundance and be at peace. But you must pay attention to His words. It’s a disaster living a life that’s disconnected from God. Such life will be full of fear, no peace, no rest, and in continual apprehension as we can see today. Remember, God has all the answers, including the pandemic Covid 19. As Genesis 18:14 says, “Is anything too hard for the Lord.” Really, “With God all things are Possible” (Luke 1:37). Now, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart; and lean not to your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6). Have a fantastic week. With love, Elvis!
