In His Presence

Friends, greetings in Jesus Name! Today I will be sharing with you on what I title, “In His Presence”. David wrote in Palm 27:4 saying, “One thing I have desired of the Lord, that will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord All the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in His temple.” Beloved, what’s your desire? What do you crave after as a child of God? If a demand is placed on you to desire one thing from the Lord, what could that possibly be? Really, I know there will be a huge confusion before many if God asks them one thing they desire from him. Do you know why? Human beings find it difficult to settle for one thing because by nature they have a thousand and one needs which they want met at the same time. Therefore, because they are perpetually self-centred and absorbed, they would have a hard time trying to settle for one thing. Ladies and gentlemen, may I humbly announce to you that there’s one thing that you can only desire and obtain of the Lord that will supersede every other desire or need in your life. Do you know what that is? God’s Presence. Why is God’s presence so important?
You see, in life you can do without certain things, but you can’t do without God’s presence. Jesus said, “For without me you can do nothing” (John 15:5). The Lord told Moses: “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest. Then Moses said to Him, if Your Presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here. For how then will it be known that Your people and I have found grace in Your sight, except You go with us” (Exodus 33:14-16). Moses knew how important it was to never make a move without the presence of God going with him. Listen, you can walk away from God’s presence like Cain (Genesis 4:16); and God’s presence can also depart from your life like King Saul (I Samuel 16:14-23). Whichever way, when God’s presence is absent in your life, you become an easy prey for the devil because you’re naked without covering. The bible declares in Psalm 16:11 saying, “You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” In God’s presence dwells his fullness and all that pertains to life and godliness. One thing you can’t lack in God’s presence is joy, peace, pleasure, and God’s protective covering from the enemy.
When a door was opened before Apostle John in Heaven, and he was ushered into God’s Presence, then he wrote in Revelations 4:11, “Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.” Yes, God created us for his pleasure. And we can only give him pleasure when we crave and desire to be in his presence. And in His presence, there are pleasures for evermore. Meaning, we can only find true pleasure in being in His Presence. Hallelujah! The Psalmist wrote saying, “They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed” (Psalm 34:5). You see, God is light, and in Him there is no darkness at all (1 John 1:5). Therefore, “In his light we see light” (Psalm 36:9). God’s presence is light. Outside of His presence you are in complete darkness. This is why the Lord warned Solomon after he appeared before him saying, “If you walk in My ways, to keep My statutes and My commandments, as your father David walked, then I will lengthen your days” (1 King 3:15). What guarantees our continuous communion in God’s presence is our obedience to His commands. God stays far from us when our hands are soiled in iniquity. I hope you have been blessed. By God’s grace, we will continue from here next week. Till then, stay in His loving presence. You are blessed. Have a Fantastic Week. With love, Elvis!
