Friends, greetings in Jesus Name! Today I will be sharing with you on what I title, “Dare to Decide”. According to a renowned Management Expert, Peter Drucker, “Whenever you see a successful business, someone once made a courageous decision.” May I begin by saying that life is a continuous process of decision making! The Almighty God made it clear in Deut. 30:19 saying, “I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live.” In life we have to make major and minor decisions every day. For instance, we make decisions such as what career to pursue, who to marry, who to enter into a business partnership with. We also decide whether to turn to God or Satan, accept Jesus or not, to forgive or stay offended, maintain an attitude of joy or always feel bitter and depressed, allow others to control our lives and emotions or take charge of our own destiny, and so on. But our God is a good God. He knows that life will always present us with choices to make. Being fully aware that the decisions we make can either lead to life or death, God is instructing us to always choose life that we may live. This is where absolute obedience to God’s command comes into play in our lives. For the bible declares, “If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the good of the land” (Isaiah 1:19). You will not taste, not to talk of eating the good of the land, when you’re operating in rebellion to God’s command.

Listen, in life you cannot rise above the level of choices you make. It is so important that you know this truth. Your choices in life will either make or mar your destiny. Really, there are choices you make early in life that become so difficult to change when you are older. That is why you see lots of people regretting over certain decisions they made earlier in life. Making the decision to follow the right course in life is very important. Our tomorrow will be shaped by the decisions we make today. Really, the decisions you make today will always have a positive or negative impact in your future. As Simone Elkeles said, “I wish I could turn back time, but I can’t. I made a stupid decision because I thought I was invincible, and I’ll pay for it the rest of my life.” But thank God for Jesus who is always there to rewrite our wrongs if only we embrace Him. Listen, there is always a T-junction of Life where you decide either to go to the right or to the left. No stopping at this point. You do not get to the middle of Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos and start waiting. There’s only one option, and that’s to keep moving. Yes, such moment is crucial in everyone’s life. You may not be there now but I guess lots of people have been there. The decision you make at that junction is very important. In fact, I was there many years ago. And the decision I made at that point to turn to Christ is what that is keeping me today. Really, I have no regret whatsoever about my decision to follow Christ. It has made a huge impact in my life and destiny.

What is decision making? It is your ability to take personal responsibility for an action taken – your choices – and its outcome. Effective decision making is fostered by identifying appropriate evidence of an action to be taken and weighing such evidence to make a choice. All evidence of who Christ is – and what He has done to save humanity – cries all around us. Therefore, there is no need to delay in deciding to follow Him. Never forget this: failing to decide on anything is a decision. Sometime ago, I was speaking to someone I met in Johannesburg about the need to embrace Christ into his life, but he told me he will consider later. Now, by putting Christ on hold, this gentleman has already made a decision. Why? If for any reason the unexpected happens, and he dies, he cannot stand before Christ and say I want to decide now. No! There is no repentance after death. “For it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment” (Hebrews 9:27). Now, what is that thing holding you from making the one most important decision of your life? Remember, not making a decision is a decision. There’s no better time than now to make one of the most important decision of your life. The decisions you make in these few days left in 2021 make or mar your 2022. Therefore, Dare to Decide today, to follow God’s will and plan for your life. Let Christ be at the centre of your decision today, and your life will never remain the same again. Yes, I am a witness.
