Friends, greetings in Jesus Mighty Name! Today, I will be sharing with you on what I title, “You Are God’s Battle Axe.” The Almighty God had an agenda when he created man here on earth. Sometime ago, I had a discussion with someone, and he lamented and said: Why should a loving God allow Satan to live together with man here on earth, when He could have easily banished the monster to any other planet totally away from man? Well, I told him the devil isn’t man’s problem on earth. Man has always been his own problem and the architect of his downfall. Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth” (Genesis 1:26). Listen, when God made this declaration, He was not ignorant of Satan’s presence here on earth. As a matter of fact, the devil was among the creeping thing that creeps on the earth. The bible says, he roams to and fro the earth (Job 1:7, 1 Peter 5:8). Meaning, he creeps around. The truth of the matter is that, God placed Man here on earth to silence the devil. Unfortunately, the biggest problem of man has always been ignorance of who he is. The Lord declared in Hosea 4:6, “For my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” Knowledge is power. Ignorance which is the absence of knowledge has kept many in captivity and bondage.

Psalm 115:16 says, “The heaven, even the heavens, are the LORD’s; But the earth has He given to the children of men.” Listen, you are in charge here on earth, not the devil. The Lord expects us to wage war against any intruder with vehemence. The biggest intruder we have here on earth is Satan. As believers in Christ, we are commanded to give no place to the devil, lest he take advantage over us (Ephesians 4:27, 2 Corinthians 2:11). Violating this command was the biggest undoing of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. Just by giving attention to the devil, Eve fell into Satan’s trap that led to man’s downfall. Hear me, you don’t reason together or engage in any discussion with the devil. Satan has no meaningful discussion to offer man, except lies and deception. You’re only allowed to reason together with the Almighty God. The Lord said in Isaiah 1:18, “Come, let us reason together.” Your life moves forward, not backward, when you reason together with the Lord, because He will always offer you good counsel and strategies on how to live and remain relevant in the midst of crooked and perverse generation. Yes, we live in a crooked and wicked world. If you’re not armed, you become a casualty.

The bible declares in Jeremiah 51:20, “You are My battle-ax and weapons of war: For with you I will break the nation in pieces; With you I will destroy kingdoms.” The Lord said earlier in Jeremiah 1:10, “See, I have this day set you over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out and to pull down, to destroy and to throw down, to build and to plant.” Let me say categorically that we’re in the days of God’s power. God is set to manifest himself through us in this season. But the question remains: Are you READY! From part B of Jeremiah 51:20, the Lord said: “For with you I will break the nation in pieces; With you I will destroy kingdoms.” What is the implication of this statement? It means you’re a vital tool for God to achieve His eternal purpose here on earth. Therefore, you and I MUST be available in God’s hands to advance His Kingdom here on earth. As a matter of fact, God cannot achieve his aim here on earth without a vessel called Man. Man is instrumental where God’s purposes and plan for the earth is concerned. Knowing fully well the agenda of Satan to negate God’s plan, the Lord Jesus called his disciples in Luke 19:13 and say to them, “Occupy till I come.” Unfortunately, many of us are not occupying, because we neglect our duty post where we should assume our dominion mandate. And as a result, we keep hindering and delaying God’s work.

Now, the Lord said you’re His battle Axe. Generally, an axe is a tool typically of iron with a steel edge and wooden handle, used for chopping wood. You know, before the advent of chain saw machine, it was axe that was typically used for chopping wood or cutting down trees. An axe is a very important tool. It can be destructive if wrongly used; but very effective when properly used for the right purpose. Whenever Satan possesses a man to wroth his evil havoc and agenda, it means God has lost an axe to the enemy. More importantly, the best use of an axe is when it is well sharpened. You can’t achieve much with an axe that is blunt. Therefore, the Lord wants you and I to be well sharpened in this season, so we can be put to maximum use and bring glory to His name. To do so, we must remain steadfast in the word (2 Timothy 2:15, Joshua 1:8); pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17; Psalm 55:17); war a good warfare and stand firm in faith (Ephesians 6:10-18, 1 Timothy 1:18; Hebrews 10:38); hear and obey God’s command (John 10:1-5, Isaiah 1:18-20, Job 36:11); and be passionate for souls (Proverbs 30:11).
