Occupy Till He Comes

Friends, greetings in Jesus Name! Today I shall be sharing with you on what I title, “Occupy Till He Comes.” Beloved, we live in a world filled with illegal occupants. These illegal occupants have a leader called Satan. He’s so vicious and mindful of conquering territories, especially if left unattended. Really, the ultimate goal of the devil is to take over your territory and assign his agents to guard over it, while seeking to acquire more. But our LORD and Saviour Jesus, has given us a great task and Mandate to “OCCUPY till He Comes” (Luke 19:13). What does it Mean to Occupy? To occupy means to march aggressively to the territory of another with the intention to conquer, take possession, take control, fill the place and engage in an enterprise. As a believer in Christ Jesus, do you really know who you are? The first message I preached as a born-again child of God, was in my first year on campus at Wits University, Johannesburg. It was an outreach program I organized with a group of friends. The outreach program came as a result of revelation I received from Genesis 1, and the title of my message was: Displaying Genesis 1:26 Into Practical Reality.
The Lord said in Genesis 1:26, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth. And in verse 28, “God blessed them, and said to them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moves upon the earth.” Listen, if you know who you are, you will discover how scared Satan is about you (Psalm 8:3-6). Apostle Paul declared a prayer in Ephesians 1:17-19 saying, “That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power.” My prayer for you this day is that, you will not walk in ignorance, but walk in the enlightenment and understanding of who you are in Christ Jesus.
You see, certain things happen in your Life when you OCCUPY. When you occupy, you walk in God’s Confidence and boldness (Hebrews 18:38, Proverbs 28:1), you walk in Power and Authority (Matt. 8:23-27), you control the territory (Judges 10:1-5), you possess your possessions and control all resources (Obadiah 1:17), you stay at the top as you occupy (Matthew 5:13-16), you dictate to the Devil (Matt.8:28-32), you command honour and respect (Daniel 2), and your influence spread abroad (1 Kings 12:1-20, Mark 1:21-28). Now, it is so interesting to know that there are inherent dangers associated by not Occupying? Listen, there is no vacuum in the realm of the spirit. The territory you fail to occupy, Satan dominates and takes over. So, if you do not occupy your territory, the devil takes advantage of you for your ignorance (2 Corinthians 2:11), you lose relevance (Matt. 5:13-16), you miss out on God’s best for your life, you become a vessel of dishonor (2 Tim.2:20; John 15), you ultimately face judgment of God for not taking responsibility for your stewardship (Luke 19:11-27).
Why are many today not occupying their mountain? There are many reasons, including lack of desire (Psalm 37:4, Psalm 2:8), unpreparedness (2 Timothy 4:1-2), fear (Jeremiah 1), staying in comfort zone, not willing to take a risk, ignorance (Hosea 4:6), disobedience (Isaiah 1:19-20), allowing the opinion of others to control your life (1 Samuel 15:24), slothfulness (Proverbs 24:30-34), poor thinking (Proverbs 23:7, Numbers 13), wrong environment and association (Proverbs 13:20). What is the way out? Discover your purpose and pursue it (1 John 3:8, John 9:4), fear the Lord, walk in obedience and follow God’s leading with boldness (Deut. 28:1-2, Isaiah 1:19-20), let God’s word dwell in you richly (Colossians 3:16, Ephesians 6:18), develop an intimate relationship with the Holy Spirit (John 14:16, John 16:7), and exercise your God-given power and authority (Luke 10:19). Hallelujah! As a believer in Christ, all things are yours. The worst position to be in life is to be begging for what is already yours. God cannot do for you what you can do for yourself. Take possession of what’s yours. Remember, you lack nothing. When I say nothing, absolutely nothing! All that is left for you to do is to unleash yourself, launch out like a missile, maximize your potential, and occupy the land. Hallelujah! Arise, take possession of what is yours, occupy and fortify your territory in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen.
