Living By God’s Instructions.

Friends, greetings in Jesus Name! Today, I will be sharing with you what I title, “Living By God’s Instructions.” The Lord declares, “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
I will guide you with My eye” (Psalm 32:8). In God’s kingdom, what promotes and catapults a man to a glorious height is their level of Obedience to God’s instructions. Yes, it’s just the secret. You don’t get promoted or exalted by rebellion. “Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the Lord your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God” (Deuteronomy 28:1-2). You see, God does not scream at us to obey Him by force. It’s by choice (Deuteronomy 30:19). You and I are a free moral agent, having the capacity to decide what we want in life. The implication of our choices in life – good or bad – have consequences. The Lord said in Jeremiah 7:23, “This is what I commanded them, saying, ‘Obey My voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be My people. And walk in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well with you” Jeremiah 7:23
Listen, at the root of many delays and frustrations a lot of people are going through today can be traced to rebellion – not obeying God’s command – as He instructs them. You can’t rise above your level of Obedience. It is where you last obeyed God that you peg your elevation in life. Therefore, it’s the Instructions of God that you obey that takes you from one level of glory to another. Job 36:11 says, “If you obey and serve Him, you shall spend their days in prosperity, and your years in pleasures.” The Lord declares further in Isaiah 1:19-20, “If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land; But if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured by the sword for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.” From the above scripture, you can see that rebels have no future with God. Who are rebels? The disobedient ones. The question is: What has the Lord been telling you to do that you have been ignoring? You see, God’s instruction that you fail to obey now will become a roadblock to your future. The bible says in 2 Corinthians 10:6, “And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.” Until your obedience is fulfilled in certain areas of your life, the consequences of your disobedience will hold you back from reaching your goal and fulfilling destiny in life.
Jesus declared in John 6:38, “For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.” Jesus’s whole life was devoted completely to obeying the will of His father. Therefore, the secret of his success while on earth was predicated upon living by Godly instructions as His father commanded. This is where many fail in their journey with God. Like King Saul, many engage in what I called, Selective Obedience. They chose to obey what’s convenient for them, and discard the ones they don’t like (1 Samuel 15). Listen, it’s obedience to God’s command that makes you a commander; it’s following God’s leading that makes you a leader. To be a good leader you must first be a good follower of God’s instructions. Jesus said, “Follow me and I will make you” (Matthew 4:19). Hear me, God can’t make you if you’re not following; and you can’t follow if you don’t obey. The key is obedience. How well are you obeying God’s command and instructions for your life, the bible says in Proverbs 4:20-22, “My son, give attention to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart; for they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh.” As you go this week, may you give attention to God’s command and instructions for your life in Jesus Mighty Name. Have a Blessed and Fantastic Week. With Love, Elvis!
