Friends, greetings in Jesus Name! Today I will be sharing with you on what I title, “Holding On To God’s Word”. This year marks 22 years I gave my life to Christ. Just recently, I decided to take a census of my church notebooks used over these years. To my surprise, I counted over 40 notebooks, excluding diaries that I have used to write down messages, prophetic words, and teachings at church. In fact, when I gather them together, it looks like a volume of books you find in the library. I was amazed when I went through my 1996 church note book, and saw some of the great messages I jotted down, including word of prophecies made in the church that I wrote down. At this point, the Lord asked me a question: Son, how many of these written messages have you put into use or practice since you wrote them? Really, I could not answer Him. While having a private conversation with His disciples, Jesus replied them saying:”Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, move from here to there, and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” Indeed, if believers that go to church could at least put to use one word they hear every Sunday, their lives will not remain the same again. Like a grain of mustard seed, one word from God is powerful enough to chase away every demon harassing your destiny.

But unfortunately, many of us have accumulated materials over the years that we have not even gone through or put to use. We have become overfed as Christians. What an indictment on so many of us. Lots of Christians today keep seeking a fresh word from God, but what are they doing with the ones they have received and accumulated over the years? The Lord declares in Isaiah 55:11 saying, “So shall my word be that goes forth from my mouth; it shall not return to me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” Every word of God we hear, receive, and write down must be taken seriously and be acted upon, otherwise it will stand against us. God’s words are “yea and amen”. Meaning, “So shall it be”. God’s word can never fall to the ground. God means what He says, and says what He means. “He can never lie” (Number 23:19). Therefore, we must hold on to His word. It is the word of God in you that will determine how fast you overcome the challenges of life that comes your way. But regrettably, it is so painful to see many people go to church on Sunday, hear the word that will lift them out from fear, poverty, bondage, sickness, and all manner of satanic affliction, but yet no visible result or changes in their lives. Why? It is because they do not act on the word of God that they hear.

Really, this has to STOP! We must allow our hearts become fertile grounds where the word of God can flourish and produce fruits in 30, 60, and 100 folds in Jesus Name! If the word of God says, “In famine you shall laugh”, then believe it, meditate on it, and confess it until you see it happen in your life. If the word says, “By His stripes you are healed”, just believe it irrespective of how your body feels. If it says, “None shall be barren”, then hold on to it. Do not confess negatively. Never allow your negative attitude and unbelief stifle and hinder the word of God from yielding results in your life. Let every word of God you hear become, yea and amen. When Angel Gabriel visited Mary and broke the news of her being favored by God to become the mother of Jesus, she replied the angel: “Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word” (Luke 1:38). That was her Amen! Like Mary, we all should be receptive to the word of God, and then run with it until we see it manifest in our lives. I hope you are blessed by this devotion. Now, go back to the archive, and dig out those old church notebooks of yours that you have abandoned for years. Really, you will be amazed to see some of the forgotten revelations and things you wrote down years ago. Then demand their manifestations if it hasn’t been fulfilled in your life.
