Arise and Fight for Your Destiny. (2)

Friends, greetings in Jesus Name! Today we shall be looking at the concluding part of the message we started last week titled, “Arise and Fight for Your Destiny.” Please, it’s a bit lengthy, but it’s worth it. So, take your time to read through and digest the contents appropriately. I just felt it should finish today so we can start a new topic by next week. Now, let me start by saying that a man’s destiny will always be subjected to a test. The test can come from any angle. The ultimate purpose of the test by God is to get you to arise and fight for what is rightly yours and fulfil your ordained calling in life. But the aim of the devil is to stop you from fulfilling your destiny. Therefore, you must stand up to resist him (James 4:7). What is destiny? It is a predetermined course of events in the future that God has designed and planned to happen in your life (Jeremiah 1:5). This predetermined counsel of God defines your purpose in life. What is purpose? It simply means your “reason for being”. Purpose is your “why” of existence here on earth. Now, when your destiny comes under attack and gets altered by the devil as a result of him knowing or having a glimpse of what your future holds, then your purpose – the reason for being – becomes distorted and short-changed. The Lord said in Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”
From the above scripture, your expected end is the hope for a desirable future – your destiny. Really, you can’t fulfil your purpose outside of the predetermined counsel of God for your life – destiny. When you see someone – pursuing the wrong career, being in the wrong place, doing wrong things, and following the wrong lane in life – it’s simply because the devil has hijacked his or her destiny. When Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of King Herod, his star appeared and was shown to the wise men from the east. They came looking for him to honour him. Why? For they knew Jesus wasn’t just an ordinary child that was born. And Satan too, was also interested in seeing the child (Matthew 2:1-8). For what purpose? To kill him and terminate his destiny. “For the thief cometh not, but to steal, to kill and to destroy” (John 10:10). Yes, we saw how the devil entered into King Herod to annihilate all the children in Bethlehem from age 2-years old and under (Matthew 2:16). Satan wanted to get Jesus at all costs. But God was smarter, for he had already issued a warning to Joseph and Mary to take the young lad away to Egypt (Matthew 2:13-14). Friend, if you do nothing and watch the enemy throwing stones at you, it’s your own cup of tea. Sooner, the stones will hit you and immobilize you. I pray that will not be your portion in Jesus Name.
No one except you is responsible for your success or failure in life. The ugly situation or circumstance you may be in right now is your responsibility to fix. You have no justification to blame Satan or anybody for the things happening around you. Blaming the serpent for making them disobey God didn’t exonerate Adam and Eve from God’s punishment. Really, they paid dearly for their willful disobedience to God’s command. Why? The devil has no right over the affairs of your life until permission is granted. A door opened by you or generations in your lineage could be responsible for your current state. The door must be shut for peace and normalcy to return in your life. Listen, when Satan sees a door open – whether invited or not – he simply enters. Satan is a lawless being who likes to breach protocols. He’s an opportunistic destroyer. Therefore, shut the door. It is your responsibility to never welcome him as a guest. You don’t need him; chase him far away with vehemence whenever you smell him crawling around your vicinity. Hear me, the prophetic declaration over your destiny puts you on the battle front. You know why? Satan needs information about you to use against your life. He is not omniscient; He’s limited in knowledge. But once your destiny is declared and he knows about it, he quickly declares a war to contend against it. It does not matter whether you’re ready or not, the battle over your life begins to rage like wildfire. Last week, we highlighted this in the life of David. But David arose and didn’t sit back in self-pity.
Therefore, you too must arise and fight for your destiny to be fulfilled. Hallelujah! According to Smith Wigglesworth, “Great faith is a product of great fights. Great testimonies are the outcome of great tests. Great triumphs can only come out of great trials.” None of the victories you achieve in life as a child of God comes without faith. To achieve a great level of faith, you must learn to, “Fight the good fight of faith” (1 Timothy 6:12). “For without faith it is impossible to please God” (Hebrews 11:6); “For whatsoever is born of God overcomes the world: and this is the victory that has overcome the world – our faith” (1 John 5:4). It is your faith that guarantees your victory on the battlefield. Yes, your faith draws God’s attention to the scene. It is not weeping, wailing, murmuring, and complaining that moves God on your behalf. Jesus said to the crowd, “Who touched me” (Luke 8:45-48). The people were like: Is this guy normal? As usual, Peter replied, “Master, the multitudes throng and press You, and You say: Who touched Me? But Jesus felt a different touch because power went out of him as the women with the issue of blood touched him by faith.
Listen, it is the touch of faith that makes the difference in the life of a believer in Christ. You must make up your mind by faith to face the devil squarely, eyeball-to-eyeball, and grab all that he has stolen from you. You see, one beautiful thing about life is that, the moment your “will” is made up to do something, no force or demonic power is strong enough to stop you. Speaking about the men of Babel who wanted to build a tower whose top will reach up to heaven, the Lord confirmed their unflinching determination to succeed and said, “Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do” (Genesis 11:6). The only way to stop these people was for God to take drastic measures against them. The bible declares in Genesis 11:7-8 that, “God came down and confused their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech. So, the Lord scattered them abroad from there over the face of all the earth, and they ceased building the city.”
From this story, we can see that when the will of man is made up, not even Satan can stop him except God. Just imagine, these were people working against the will of God. But look at their belief system that was so wired to succeed. Therefore, how much more you who are a child of God and spirit filled. Now, the question is: How determined are you to be free from the yoke the devil has tied around your neck for so long? How long will you keep nursing the wounds inflicted on you by the enemy? Are you going to sit-down in Satan’s prison camp of fear, confusion, mental torture, depression, poverty, hardship, lack of progress, failure, directionless, demonic delays, perpetual backwardness, sickness and disease all your life? No! It’s time to wake up from sleep. Ephesians 5:14 says, “Awake, you who sleep, Arise from the dead, And Christ will give you light.” You know why? The light of God will not shine on you and I when we tolerate darkness and make it our abode. “For God is light, and in him is no darkness at all” (1 John 1:5); “What communion has light with darkness” (2 Corinthians 6:14). Whatever condition you’re in right now will remain until you Arise. Isaiah 60:1 says, “Arise, Shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.”
From the above scripture, we can see that the condition of the glory being risen upon you is for you to first, Arise. You can’t sit back in the dark to experience the glory of God. You must arise in faith into light, to see and claim all that’s yours. Nothing just happens. In his book titled, Miracles Don’t Just Happen, the author Dr. Lester Sumrall said, “Miracles do not make up for our laziness or unwillingness to do what is expected of us.” Your spiritual battles can never be delegated to someone else while you go on vacation. You must fight your own fight, and win your own battles of life. Yes, you may get a helping hand from others. But the battle is fully yours to engage and overcome. Like David, you will have to pray for the Lord to strengthen your hands for the battle (Psalm 144:1, Psalm 18:32-34). And the only way to get the answer to your prayers is to arise and fight. How else would you know if your hand is strengthened or not if you are not engaged in the battle? You must be on the battlefield, look at the devil and say to him: No retreat, no surrender. Enough is Enough, Satan. Get your filthy hands off my life, my children, my business, my family, my health, and all that concerns me now in Jesus Mighty Name. Hallelujah! Remember, “You shall decree a thing and it shall be established unto you, and light shall shine on your ways” (Job 22:28). Now, speak the word and issue a decree against the devil. Never forget, until you stand your ground against Satan, he won’t take you seriously to run from you. James 4:7 tells us to, “Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” It’s a new day. Arise, fight, overcome the enemy, and fulfil your destiny in life. Have a Blessed and Fantastic Week. With love, Elvis!
