Friends, greetings in Jesus Name! Today I will be sharing with you on what I title, “Be Who God Designed You To Be”. One terrible dark side of life that man must avoid is to deny who God originally created them to be by choosing to become something else. I am black by skin colour, manufactured in heaven, dispatched to Africa, and born in Nigeria. I have no reason whatsoever to deny my race or colour by trying to become something else. I have seen people who are ashamed of their race, colour, parents, and their physical appearance. Some go as far as bleaching their skin to become who they are not. Let me announce to you that the moment you despise one aspect of your life, then you disqualify yourself from whom God has designed you to be in life. When you embrace who you are, the whole world will embrace you. Like St. Catherine of Siena rightly noted, “Be who God meant you to be and you will set the world on fire.” Today the world is filled with those who aren’t sure of who they are, and those who have chosen to become something else. For this simple reason, we have many people today mimicking others, working so hard to become the second best of somebody else. I have come to realize one thing, and that is, “Excellence has no racial barrier”. When you are exceptional in what you do in life, it does not matter your race or colour, it does not matter whether you are beautiful or ugly, tall or short, the fact remains that people will gravitate towards you. Why? It is because you carry what they need. Meaning, you are an answer to their problems.
Whenever God wants to use a man, the first thing He does is to change their worldview – their mindset – about who they think they are, and then align them to His purpose, plan, and design for their life. Once they pass that test, they become ready to be used. Not passing this test delays many people from fulfilling their callings and destiny in life. Passing this test is important, because if you lack the knowledge of who God has created you to be, then the devil will tell you. Guess what? Satan is a liar (John 8:44); he will never tell you the truth about who you are. We saw several of these tests in the bible beginning with Abraham. To let Abraham know that he will be the father of many nations, the Lord brought him outside and said, “Look now toward heaven, and count the stars if you are able to number them. And He said to him, so shall your descendants be” (Genesis 15:5). Then the Lord said to Jeremiah, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations” (Jeremiah 1:5). On hearing this, Jeremiah replied the Lord saying, I cannot speak, I am a youth. Then the Lord interrupted him by saying, “Do not say, I am a youth, for you shall go to all to whom I send you, and whatever I command you, you shall speak. Do not be afraid of their faces, for I am with you to deliver you, says the Lord” (Jeremiah 1:7-8). In all of these given scenarios, what was the Lord trying to accomplish? He wants you and me to be focused on the plan and purposes He has designed for our lives. This was the attention he was drawing to Abraham and Jeremiah. Anything short of that is to live a life of failure and derailment of destiny.
Listen, in life you can make several discoveries. But one major discovery you can ever make is the discovery of destiny. Your purpose in life! That is, your reason for being or existence. If you can find out who you are, and for what reason you were born, and then pursue it with all your heart, really you will set the world on fire. Unfortunately, many have lost passion for living or existence. So many today commit suicide to escape the pressures of life; while others engage in drugs and other social vices to ease the tension and depression they are facing. Beloved, the only way out is to find Christ, who knows the way, and He is the only way out from every life’s turmoil and troubles (John 14:6). Yes, “In him we live and move and have our being” (Acts 17:28). It is only in Christ you can find purpose, peace, and discover the true design God has made you to be. “For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the manifestation of the sons of God” (Romans 8:19). The whole world awaits the manifestation of your true design from heaven. Therefore, embrace Jesus today and turn the world upside down for Him (Acts 17:1-6). He’s all that you need. I am a witness. With love, Elvis!
