Chase After God Not Man

Friends, greetings in Jesus Name! Today I will be sharing with you on what I title, “Chase After God Not Man”. Sometime ago, I was in the shower and worshipping God, and the Lord spoke to me saying, “You Need Me To Succeed In Life”. He went further to say, “Do Not Pursue Man”. A lot of times, many people put their hope in man. They wish if only they could get in touch with so and so persons, then their problems will be over. Unfortunately, they make God like a spare tyre – only solicit for His help – when all else fails. You see, when your hope and trust is in the Lord, He will bring men to your aid. But when you run after men without his approval, they will disappoint you, and at the same time, you miss God’s help and blessings. This is what I refer to as – double jeopardy – because you lose on both ends when you put your hope and trust in men. Really, if you have any need troubling you, let your focus be on God to meet that need. Never begin to figure out persons to call without God’s leading. Otherwise, you expose yourself to unnecessary denials or insults.
Listen, when you call people for assistance and they do not respond as you expect, just leave them, and do not make a nuisance of yourself by calling or disturbing them non-stop. In fact, sooner they will block your line or contact because you have become irritating to them. The Lord God Almighty declared in Jeremiah 17:5-8 saying, “Cursed be the man that trusts in man, and makes flesh his arm, and whose heart departs from the LORD. For he shall be like the heat in the desert, and shall not see when good comes; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited. Blessed is the man that trusts in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreads out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat comes, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.” The above scripture paints a hard truth that we must digest as long as we live. It tells us the danger of ignoring God, while we pursue after men to meet our needs.
Hear me, when God puts your matter into someone’s heart to help you, when you call that person, they will respond timely and favorably to you. This is because you have made God the topmost priority in your life above others. I have learnt a huge lesson on this matter. When God puts you in the mind of others to help you, you don’t struggle to get their attention. They look out for you. And until they have helped you, they will not have peace. As a matter of fact, it is a mission accomplished when they have done what God has told them to do concerning your life. When you don’t know what to do, or what you know to do is not getting the required result that you need, then wisdom demands that you should first and foremost turn to God, not to man. It doesn’t matter the situation you are going through or facing right now – lack, health challenge, joblessness, debt, poverty, depression, just name it – Jesus will never fail you when you genuinely call upon Him.
The bible declares in Romans 10:13, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Yes, “For the name of the Lord is a strong tower, the righteous run to it, and are safe” (Proverbs 18:10). His names are available, and will meet whatever need in your life. He is Jehovah Nissi (The Lord your banner, shield, and deliverer), Jehovah El Shaddai (The Almighty and All-Powerful God), Jehovah Ropheka (The Lord your healer), Jehovah El Elyon (The Most High God, the God of gods, and Lord of lords; the matchless God), Jehovah Jireh (The Lord your provider), Jehovah El Roi (The God who sees – He’s not blind over your situations and circumstances), Jehovah Sabaoth (The Lord of Host, the Mighty Man in battle – For He will fight for you and you shall hold your Peace), Jehovah Shammah (The Lord is Present – For He is your ever present help in times of trouble), and Jehovah “Whatever you want Him to be in your Life”. Hallelujah! Never forget, chase after God, not after man. Have a Blessed and Fantastic Week. With Love, Elvis!
