Divine Direction

Friends, greetings in Jesus Name! Today I will be sharing with you on what I title “Divine Direction”. Have you ever been driving on a highway not knowing exactly which way to take and the motorists behind are hooting at you to clear from the way because you’re obstructing them? Personally, I have been there, and it can be very frustrating. As a matter of fact, many are presently at a cross-road in their lives, not knowing which way to go. One of the greatest dilemmas in life is to be at the “T-Junction of Life”, where you must decide whether to take right or left. Any decision you make at this point is crucial because it carries a huge consequence – either good or bad. As children of God, we are not supposed to struggle in such situations because the Lord God Almighty has already made a way of escape for us. He is the only GPS you need and can trust at such moments. Hallelujah!
The bible declares in Psalm 50:15, “Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.” And it goes further to declare in Isaiah 43:2, “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame kindle upon you.” In situations where you find yourself at a cross-road – not knowing which way to go – just remember that the only way of escape is to call upon the name of the Lord who knows the way, and is the way Himself. Jesus said in John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” You can never miss your way in life when you embrace the “Way Maker”. There was a time when I found myself at a cross-road. I needed to make a crucial decision that will shape my destiny. I knew at that point that any wrong decision I make will attract dire consequences. It was a very tough and painful moment of my life. You know what? I began to press into God’s presence, reading and meditating on the word, spending quality time in prayer and fasting, learning from those who were in similar situations and how they overcame. Then the Lord began to reveal the answers that I needed bit by bit.
Today it’s a different story entirely. I can boldly say that I made the right decision when I sought the face of the Lord. I know some of you reading this devotion may be in similar situation where you need desperate answers to move ahead in life. In fact, I know someone who is currently battling with the decision to either quit or continue on her paid job. She’s dissatisfied with her job. She wants to know if it is the right time for her to follow her passion and calling into ministry. Another person I know is battling with the decision to either relocate outside the country or stay back in Nigeria. Also, there are others who are currently in the heat of making a decision to either go ahead or not with someone they want to marry. They are not sure if that marriage is God’s will for them. Really, these are few cases of being at the T- Junction of life. The danger is that any decision you make at this point that is contrary to God’s plan for your life will derail your destiny. There are those who have gone ahead of God’s timing or got it completely wrong, especially in ministry. Today, they are going through some excruciating pains they can’t reveal to anyone. Others have left their beautiful jobs here in Nigeria to pursue a greener pasture abroad, but unfortunately, they found themselves in captivity. I know of a beautiful family whose marriage has shattered, and they lost everything since they relocated abroad.
The key here is to hear God’s voice and know exactly which direction to take. There are those the Lord has asked to relocate abroad and they are happy and doing very well. Like Apostle Paul, there are those whom God has called into the ministry and they launch out according to God’s instruction, and they are prospering in what God has committed to their hands. There is a saying that, “A broken courtship is better than a broken marriage”. There are those who instead of staying in a deadly courtship or relationship, obeyed the Lord’s instruction to break it off, and today are happily married with someone else. Apostle Paul prayed a profound prayer in Ephesians 1:17-19 saying, “That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power”. My prayer for you is that the Lord will guide you on every step and move you make in Jesus Mighty Name. You will not miss it or get it wrong in life. Have a Praiseful Week. With love, Elvis!
