Friends, greetings in Jesus Name! Today I will be sharing with you on what I title, “Exercising God’s Power To Do Exploits”. As a child of God, when you gave your life to Christ, and became born again, you were born into power. The bible declares in John 1:12, “For as many that received Him, to them He gave power to become the sons of God. ” Hallelujah! Listen friend, you are Powerful, not Powerless. If you don’t know it, know it today. Why? It is because Satan is aware, and he is working overtime to ensure you remain ignorant of who you are in Christ. You see, one big challenge God has when it comes to his dealings with man is not the influence Satan has over man, but man’s inability to come to the realisation of who he is, the power he has, and the position he occupies in the heavenly places (Ephesians 2:4-7). The bible declares in Psalm 8:1-6, “When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have ordained, what is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of man that You visit him? For You have made him a little lower than the angels (Elohim), and You have crowned him with glory and honor. You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; you have put all things under his feet.”
From the above scripture, the Psalmist paused to think about the creature called man, and the exceeding greatness of God’s power and splendour bestowed upon him. In verse five of this scripture, the Psalmist said: For you have made him a little lower than the angels. Look, in the original Hebrew translation of the bible, the place where angel was written was actually Elohim, meaning God. Really, man could not have been made a little lower than the angels, when angels are the ministering spirits the Lord has assigned to man (Hebrews 1:14). I believe the translator could not fathom how man should be a little lower than God, and then decided it should be angels. What an erroneous interpretation. But you know what: The bible declares “For as He is, so are we in this world” (1 John 4:17). You are created in the image and likeness of God (Genesis 1:26). As a son and daughter of the Most-High, God’s gene runs through you. Meaning, as He operates in power and majesty, so he expects to operate through you here on earth.
Then Jesus answered and said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner” (John 5:19). Then Jesus turned to his disciples and said, “He who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father” (John 14:12). Brethren, you lacked nothing. Like I stated last week, the greatest draw back of man is lack of knowledge of who he is, what he possesses, his rights and responsibilities in Christ Jesus. As a result of this setback, many has been destroyed (Hosea 4:6), while others remain in captivity and bondage (Isaiah 5:13). Really, if you check from the lives of some of the great leaders and prophets that God called, you will observe that it was lack of knowledge, the ignorance of who they are, that God immediately expunged from their lives so they can fulfil purpose. An example is Prophet Jeremiah.
According to Prophet Jeremiah, “Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying: Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified[a] you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations. Then said I: Ah, Lord God! Behold, I cannot speak, for I am a youth. But the Lord said to me: Do not say, ‘I am a youth, for you shall go to all to whom I send you, and whatever I command you, you shall speak. Do not be afraid of their faces, for I am with you to deliver you,” says the Lord” (Jeremiah 1:4-8). Like Jeremiah, many of us belittle or look down upon ourselves. Listen, you are powerful because God has given you the power. In Luke 10:19, Jesus said to his disciples, “Behold, I give you the power to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” The bible records in Matthew 10:1 that, “When Jesus called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease.” Beloved, this power is still available. Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8).
Remember, God has not changed, neither the potency of His power. God’s power is as fresh as ever. Hear me, when God looks at you, He doesn’t look at your weaknesses and failures. No! He looks at your strength, your ability, the exploits He will do through you if only you yield to His will for your life. This is the true picture God painted to Abraham, even though his body was weak, Sarah’s womb was dead, and both were stricken in age. In spite of all these setbacks, God still saw the emergence of Isaac even in the midst of their impossible situation. Friends, now is the time to start exercising God’s power and authority that you possess. Yes, the Power is in You. No more fear, timidity, and mediocrity. It’s all over! “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7); “For you have the mind of Christ” (1 Cor. 2:16); “And let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus (Philippians 2:5). What kind of mind did Jesus have? A mind that knew who he was, and the power and authority that God has given him to operate and execute judgement here on earth. Ephesians 2:10 says, “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” Yes, we are created in Christ Jesus to do Exploits. Now, Arise to your New You in Jesus Mighty Name. Hallelujah! You’re Blessed. Have a Fantastic Week. With love, Elvis!
