FEAR NOT

Friends, greetings in Jesus Name! Today, I will be sharing with you what I title, “FEAR NOT”. Let me begin by saying that fear is a crippling force. You can’t accomplish anything meaningful if the root of fear is plaguing your life. God knows it so well, and so also the devil. For His care and love towards us, you see in many instances in the bible, where God keep sounding an alarm to those who care to listen, saying to them, FEAR NOT. In Joshua 1:9, you hear the Lord telling Joshua, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” Why does God sound this alarm to His children? The answer is simple. The Almighty God does not want us to operate under an atmosphere of fear. The fearful, and unbelieving have no place in God (Revelation 21:8). Like I have often said, fear is to the devil as faith is to God. When you’re constantly afraid, you’re simply telling God that He is incapable to save. Can you imagine you taking a walk with your son on the street, and a dog that is chained is barking profusely, and as a result, your son refuses to walk along with you anymore because he’s afraid of the dog. Then you appeal to him saying: Son, don’t bother about the toothless dog, I am here with you; the dog cannot do you any harm. Yet your son refuses to pay attention to your words, but rather focuses his attention to the fuming dog. As a father, how would you feel? The above scenario paints a vivid picture of the pathetic state many are today.
Beloved, “Do not be afraid of sudden terror, nor of trouble from the wicked when it comes; For the LORD will be your confidence, and will keep your foot from being caught” (Proverbs 3:25-26). Listen, there are many things that can cause our heart to fear at this present moment. But the bible implores us in Hebrews 10:35 saying, “Do not cast away your confidence in the Lord, which has great reward.” There is a reward of being confident in God (Psalm 125:1; Isaiah 12:2). As a nation, this week is a critical one for Nigeria as we head to the Presidential Election. Many don’t know what will happen. There’s tension in the air, but God isn’t tensed. Hear me friend, no evil will happen to us. The Lord of Hosts has already gone ahead and He’s with us (Psalm 46:7). You know what? The case over Nigeria has been settled in Heaven. Yes, IT IS DONE. Therefore, FEAR NOT. I see a new Nigeria emerging with the whole world wondering and asking: HOW DID IT HAPPEN? The Psalmist declares, “When the LORD brought back the captivity of Zion, we were like those who dream. Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing. Then they said among the nations, “The LORD has done great things for them.” The LORD has done great things for us, and we are glad” (Psalm 126:1-3). Listen, when the Lord is done with Nigeria, it will look like a dream. The above scripture is a foretaste of what we’re about to experience in this Nation. Hallelujah! This may sound like an exaggeration, but know that God is set to lift Nigeria up from the dungeon and quagmire of evil leaders that has plagued the nation since independence.
.
Now, rather than sitting on the fence, complaining and whining, arise to your duty and intercede for the nation. Do not be deterred by what you see going on. While admonishing the church at Corinth, Apostle Paul declared, “While we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal” (2 Corinthians 4:18). Hallelujah! When you focus on the negative things you see happening in the world and around you, your heart will faint. But remember, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7). God is looking for men and women who will rise up in faith, not in fear at this critical time. It will take boldness and courage to accomplish the task ahead of us. No room for fear if you want to be counted. “For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him” (2 Chronicles 16:9). As you put your hope and trust in God in this hour, He will show Himself strong in your life in the Mighty Name of Jesus. I declare to you as we go into the General Election this weekend, FEAR NOT, for the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY is in CONTROL. Hallelujah! Have a Blessed and Fantastic Week. With love, Elvis!
