Friends, greetings in Jesus Name! Today I shall be sharing with you on what I title, “Following Up on God’s Instructions”. In my time management training class, I usually take my delegates through what is called “The Time Management Matrix”. The time management matrix is an effective tool designed to help you prioritize and make the most use of your time. Made popular by the late Stephen R. Covey, it’s based on the idea that all your time is spent in a four quadrant matrix. The four quadrant matrix depicts what is: important/urgent, important/not urgent, not important/urgent, and not important/not urgent. The principle behind the time management matrix is that you should, first and foremost, always give high priority to tasks that are important and that demands urgent attention before any other task. Unfortunately, in life so many people do not know what is important and urgent. They mix up everything, and end up focusing on what is not important and not urgent.
Really, God’s instructions and directives for your life is the most important and urgent task you must focus on. It has to take high priority over any other thing you are doing. You see, our stay on this earth is like a vapor. James 4:14 says, “For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.” And Psalm 90:12 goes on to say, “Lord, teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.” If anyone lives and dies, doing the wrong things, not fulfilling purpose, and not unleashing potential – he or she has himself or herself to blame – not devil, God, or anybody. The choices you make in life are your personal responsibility. Nobody jumps down from a cliff and say Satan made me do so. No! The devil always presents an offer for destruction and derailment of destiny. But you have a choice to accept or decline his offers. Like Jesus, you have the right to say, “Get thee behind me Satan”. And he will flee from you.
Let me point out to you that Satan specializes in keeping people from doing the right things that will profit them. A lot of times he can sense something good coming your way, and if you are not sensitive in the spirit, he will swindle you and misdirect you into doing the wrong thing. In fact, I have seen people with great talents in writing, singing, artistic prowess, and so on. Rather than develop and focus on the great talents that God has given them, they keep running around with CV looking for jobs to no avail, while in essence they should be job creators. God’s instruction to them might be to sharpen their talents by improving on themselves, but they would rather opt to do something else which keeps delaying the fulfillment of their destiny. There is a prayer I prayed many years ago, “Lord, may I not beg or look for what I already have”. By creation, you are loaded. It is abnormal to always be at the receiving end, where your hands continuously stretch out to collect from others without giving back.
By virtue of God’s DNA in you, “you are a created creator”. God created trees, not chairs. He created mango, not mango juice. In essence, God commissioned us to continue from where He stopped in creation. But you must hear His voice and follow His leadings for your life. Our greatest undoing has always been ignorance. “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge”, says Hosea 4:6. Many people have eyes but cannot see, ear but cannot hear, heart but can’t discern or understand. Ladies and gentlemen, it’s time to become angry. You have only one life, and if you do not live it to the full, who will. Remember, “For they that do know their God shall be strong and will do exploits” (Daniel 11:32). We are created to make impact on the earth. You can only do this when you follow up on God’s instructions for your life, know your field of endeavor, understand His timing for your life, and then launch out. Our days here on earth are too short to live a mediocre life. Therefore, “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon you” (Isaiah 60:1). Have a fantastic week. With love, Elvis!
