Freedom from the Power of Darkness
Friends, greetings in Jesus Name! Today, I will be sharing with you what I title, “Freedom from the Power of Darkness”. Despite their devotion to the things of God, it is stunning to see many Christians still held captive by the devil. These are people being tormented in one area or the other by Satan. Some are held bound in the area of anger, drug, sexual addiction, drunkenness, smoking, masturbation, gluttony, mental torments, depression, failure, sicknesses, nightmares, poverty, just name it. As a matter of fact, some believers feel the presence of the devil more than the presence of God in their lives. This may seem an exaggeration, but a reality and huge stronghold that many believers are going through today. Listen, we’re in the latter days, and as we climax the age, evil works, wickedness, and all kinds of detestable acts shall increase. Apostle Paul declares, “But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away” (2 Timothy 2:1-5).
From the above scripture, we can see that not only are we living in perilous times, but living in the midst of perilous people. One of the things holding many Christians in captivity today has been IGNORANCE. “Therefore, my people have gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge, says the Lord (Isaiah 5:13). Hear me, I don’t care what you are suffering or going through today, but the moment you recognize the way out and follow through, you are FREE. Unfortunately, the way out is always before us but we don’t seem to recognize it. Jesus said to His disciples, “I am the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6). Colossians 2:6-7 says, “As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him.” And in Matthew 11:28-29, Jesus declares, “Come unto me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me.” As believers, we are commanded to learn the ways of Christ. Why? So that we’ll know how he was able to navigate his way while on earth.
Remember, Jesus once lived here on earth and was tempted just like us. He is our perfect example on how to deal with the devil and DAILY walk in VICTORY. While on EARTH, Jesus used a strategy against Satan that the devil could not withstand. You may ask: What strategy did He use? The Word! One of the things the Lord taught me was never to engage the devil in a “war of reasoning”. Why? That’s Satan’s domain. You cannot have a reasonable conversation with the devil. Like Eve, he will reason you out of the truth. No matter what the devil is bringing your way, the answer to all his troubles against your life are in these three words: “IT IS WRITTEN”. This was Jesus’ weapon when Satan came against Him. You can never go wrong when you apply this same spiritual prescription to your most difficult challenges. Today, many believers lack the knowledge of God’s word. “For my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge, says the Lord” (Hosea 4:6).
Never forget, you can’t say to Satan “IT IS WRITTEN” when you lack the knowledge of what is WRITTEN in the Bible. If you stay in the “Word” long enough, it has the power to change you from inside out, and deliver you from whatever problem you might be going through. Unfortunately, many believers don’t read their bible. They want a quick fix. It doesn’t work that way. Now, begin to devour the Bible as though your life depends on it. Drive out all the bondage, fear, torments, and the oppressions of the devil in your life with the word of God. That is the secret. Read the Word and Pray the Word. Yes, frame your world by the word of God. Speak it to the devil and declare your Freedom in any area you are being held captive. Hallelujah! I see you walking in VICTORY. Have a Great and Fantastic Week. With love, Elvis!
