He is Risen.
Friends, greetings in Jesus Name! Today I will be sharing with you what I title, “He is Risen.” Let me begin by saying that, one of the most significant things about Christianity is not that Jesus died. But the fact that He died, was buried and he rose from the dead. Hallelujah! The resurrection of Jesus Christ was an awesome display of God’s power. Really, this is what differentiates Christianity from others. In other faiths or religion, every person they worshiped or believed in, all died and remain dead with their bones buried somewhere in the grave. But that was not the case for Jesus. Yes, Jesus conquered and defeated death. He is alive and lives forever more. This is the reason why we celebrate Easter. A period of sober reflection that marks the finished work of Jesus on Calvary. The death, burial and resurrection of Jesus marked a very significant purpose in the life of believers. Through this trio (death, burial and resurrection), we have a new life. Like Apostle Paul rightly stated, “Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection” (Romans 6:4-5).
Brethren, as Christians there is something you and I have that those in the world doesn’t have. Do you know what it is? The Name of Jesus! There is power in that name; healing in that name; elevation in that name; uncommon favour in that name; deliverance in that name; wealth and riches in that name; yes, whatever good thing you desire in life is in the Name of Jesus. Hallelujah! Listen, there’s nothing that scares Satan to death other than the name of Jesus. Why? The devil knows He’s alive. And when that name – JESUS – is called by FAITH – every demon goes into hiding. The bible declares in Philippians 2:9-11, “Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” When Jesus was leaving this earth, he didn’t leave us with a huge real estate or money in the bank account. No! He left us with his name. The power in his name was just enough to get things done. Yes, his name was enough for Peter and John to perform a notable miracle when they met a crippled man at the Gate of the Temple called Beautiful.
The bible recorded in the book of Acts 3:3-10 that, “Who, seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked for alms. And fixing his eyes on him, with John, Peter said, Look at us. So, he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them. Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk and he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. So, he leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them – walking, leaping, and praising God. And all the people saw him walking and praising God. Then they knew that it was he who sat begging alms at the Beautiful Gate of the temple; and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him. Afterwards, Peter declared to the Jews saying, and His name – Jesus – through faith in His name, has made this man strong, whom you see and know. Yes, the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all” (Acts 3:16). Dear friends, there is Power in the Name of Jesus. Hallelujah!
Hear me, if there’s one thing that shakes the foundation of hell and put the devil to flight, it’s the power in the name of Jesus. By the authority in the name of Jesus, you and I have been given the power to tread upon serpent and scorpions, and over all the powers of the enemies, and nothing shall by any means hurt you (Luke 10:19). As I begin to round off, I want you to note something very significant that Jesus did for you and me. While He was hanging on that old rugged cross, Jesus made an important request. The bible declares in John 19:28-30, “After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, said, “I thirst”. Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a spunge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth. When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, “It is finished” and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost. Someone may ask: What is FINISHED? All that the devil could ever throw against your life – poverty, pain, lack, sickness and disease, barrenness, joblessness, confusion, just name it – all were contained in that cup of vinegar – and he drank it for you and for me – and said, IT IS FINISHED. Yes, Jesus paid it all by his death, burial and resurrection. Now, you are FREE. Hallelujah! Happy Easter and Happy Resurrection in Jesus Mighty Name. Have a Fantastic Week. With Love, Elvis!
