Friends, greetings in Jesus Name! Today I will be sharing with you what I title, “Her Countenance Was No More Sad”. The bible declares in Psalm 30:5 saying, “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.” Let me announce to you that every problem has an expiry date. No problem lasts forever. That thing making you to weep and sob each time you lay down on your bed, will soon come to an end in Jesus Mighty Name. You see, our God is faithful. The bible says in 1 Corinthians 10:13, “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.” The Almighty God knows whatever pain or challenge you are facing right now. He equally knows your strength and weaknesses. He is very much aware of the threshold of pressure you can bear. If you can’t withstand any trial coming your way, God will not allow it. Whatever He allows to come your way is because He knows you have the capacity to withstand and overcome. Yes, the Lord is determined to save you and sail you through out of many waters. Hallelujah!

Let’s look at a very interesting story about Hannah in 1 Samuel 1 & 2. As we all know, Hannah was branded barren. She waited for a very long time before she could bear a child. Really, her long waiting disfigured her look, as laughter completely left her life. She became a woman of sorrow – no more joy – but pain, hurt, and bitterness. You know what? The more she remained in that state, the more depressed she became. At a point she held her husband’s clothes, demanding that he must give her a child. The husband told her: Woman, I am not God that give children. Then she wept the more, and got more frustrated, because she was being ridiculed by her rival, the second wife of her husband. Now, she realized at this point that her continuous weeping and self-induced frustration was not producing the desired result. She needed to do something different, and she did. The bible declared that Hannah prayed intensely, and made a vow before God. And when she stood up from her place of prayer, “Her Countenance Was No More Sad” (1 Samuel 1:18). Listen, the moment joy returned in her life, God visited her.

Please, never underestimate, the power of joy and gladness of heart. In Deuteronomy 28:47-48, the Lord declared to the children of Israel saying, “Because you did not serve the LORD your God with joy and gladness of heart, for the abundance of everything, therefore you shall serve your enemies, whom the LORD will send against you, in hunger, in thirst, in nakedness, and in need of everything; and He will put a yoke of iron on your neck until He has destroyed you.” Whenever joy departs from your life, frustration sets in, and your works become fruitless. Joel 1:12 says, “The vine has dried up, and the fig tree has withered; The pomegranate tree, the palm tree also, and the apple tree – All the trees of the field are withered; because joy has withered away from the sons of men.” It is clear from the above scripture that when joy dries up from one’s life, everything dries up. Many people lack joy in their lives today. They carry long faces, that shows how long they want to remain in their pathetic situation. The bible says in Nehemiah 8:10, “For the joy of the Lord shall be your STRENGTH”. Meaning, if you want to be sapped of strength, remain joyless and moody. I pray that will not be your portion in Jesus Mighty Name.

Isaiah 43:1-3 declares, “But now, thus says the Lord, who created you, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel: Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you. For I am the Lord your God, The Holy One of Israel, your Savior.” The Lord has promised to be with us in whatever challenges of life we may face. But we must learn to go through it with courage, knowing fully well that He who has promised to deliver, will surely deliver us when we call upon on Him. Remember, “If you faint in the day of adversity your strength is small” (Proverbs 24:10). Therefore, like Hannah, change your approach – from sadness to joy – and what you have been waiting for will be delivered right at your door step in Jesus Mighty Name. Hallelujah!
