He’s God, You’re Not

Friends, greetings in Jesus Name! Today I will be sharing with you what I title, “He’s God, You’re Not”. In my quiet time with the Lord recently, He said to me: “Son, there can’t be two drivers steering a car at the same time; and neither can there be two captains in a ship. Therefore, learn to be quiet and stay focused in my presence while I lead.” Ladies and gentlemen, may I begin by emphatically declaring that, He’s God, you’re not. Psalm 100:3 says, “Know that the LORD, He is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.” Really, if we’re truly His sheep, then we must hear His voice and follow His leading without rebelling against his commands to us. It’s only the goat that rebels and goes against the command of his master. Jesus said in John 10:27, “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.” Why do they follow? They follow because they recognize that the Lord is their master who provides direction, protection, and provision that they need. Yes, the sheep is not wiser or greater than the master (John 13:16). Jesus said in John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” And in John 15:5, he said “Without me you can do nothing.” Therefore, attempting to do things on the frolic of your own idea or wisdom, disregarding God without His approval, will only lead to doom.
Today we do things that we know will offend God, yet we harden our hearts like Pharaoh, and still come before His presence raising unholy hands in worship to Him. What an effrontery! How dare you come before God with an unclean hand. The book of Ecclesiastes 8:11 declares, “Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.” One thing many are ignorant about or have forgotten to realize is that, “Our God is a consuming fire” (Hebrews 12:29). He is a loving God, yet a God of judgment. As believers, we must understand that the same fire that is used to cook sumptuous meals, can also consume and destroy; the same electricity that electrify can also electrocute; and the same God who can heal and make alive, can also kill and destroy without mercy (1 Samuel 2:6-8). The mercy of God can be two sided. There’s a side of His mercy that saves, and there’s also a side of God’s mercy that kills. By His mercy God killed Pharaoh and his entire army for the sake of Israel (Psalm 136:13-26). Yes, it is God’s mercy to kill and destroy you in order to forestall peace and order so that others will learn and not toe your line of rebellion or disobedience towards Him (Numbers 14:26-33).
Hear me, The Most-High God is not your mate or contemporary. It is a privilege to call Him God, Abba Father, and Daddy. Listen, the Angels do not have such privilege. Angels do as they are told. They do not have a mind of their own like man to reason or negotiate with God. It is only man that God created and said, “Come, let us reason together” (Isaiah 1: 18); Yes, He went further and said to man, “Present your case. Bring forth your strong reasons” (Isaiah 41:21). No wonder when the Psalmist had a glimpse of this revelation he said, “When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have ordained, what is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of man that You visit him? For You have made him a little lower than the Elohim, and You have crowned him with glory and honor. You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet” (Psalm 8:3-6). You know what? This privilege God bestowed upon man shouldn’t be taken for granted. This is where man has failed woefully. A lot of time, man wants to play God, forgetting he’s just a little creature produced from the dust of the ground by God, and if it displeases God, he can utterly destroy and wipe him out of the face of the earth. Oh Yes, God did it in time past. If you have forgotten, ask Mr. Noah, the Ark Builder (Genesis 6).
Friend, you can’t place God in a box and dictate to Him. He’s too big to be controlled by mere mortals. Isaiah 45:9 declares, “Woe to him who strives with his Maker…Shall the clay say to him who forms it, what are you making.” Apostle Paul puts it this way in Romans 9:21, “Does not the potter have power over the clay, from the same lump to make one vessel for honor and another for dishonor?” All that the Lord requires from us is a holy fear (Psalm 112:1; Proverbs 9:10), reverence for Him (Psalm 2:11), humility (Psalm 37:11), love towards Him (Mark 11:30; Deuteronomy 6:4-7), and obedience to His commands without questioning Him (Isaiah 1:19-20). Hebrews 12:28 declares, “Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear.” Remember, “If you obey and serve God, you shall spend your days in prosperity, and your years in pleasures” (Job 36:11). The Lord declares in Proverbs 8:35-36, “For whoever finds me finds life, and obtains favor from the LORD; But he who sins against me wrongs his own soul; All those who hate me love death.” Have a Blessed and Fantastic Week.
