Leading your New Year Resolution

Friends, greetings in Jesus Name! Once again welcome to 2023. I feel so excited about this year. This is your time and season for a creative turnaround. Therefore, be expectant of great things to happen. Today I will be sharing with you what I title, “Leading your New Year Resolution”. Resolution simply means a firm decision to do or not to do something. A lot of times we set New Year resolutions that are not resolute. As the saying goes, “many people look forward to the New Year for a new start on old habits”. To some people, a New Year’s resolution is something that goes in one Year and out the other. Let’s be honest, how many times have we set our minds each New Year to achieve certain goals and you find yourself unable to achieve any of them? You discover that the resolution we make do not pass the first few weeks of the year, and then we forget our resolutions – back to our usual lifestyle that has always yielded the same old result that we don’t want. Today we shall focus on some important areas we may need to set some goals for the year. The areas I will be sharing with you are only suggestions. I trust you already have some goals to achieve this year. You should understand that setting a goal is important but it’s not the success itself. The strategies you put in place to achieve it is what matters. Now, let’s begin by looking at some areas you may want to set your goals for this year:
1. Career Goals: Academically, where would you want to be? Are there courses you need to take to boost your career and academic qualifications?
2. Financial Goals: Do you want to be financially buoyant? What goals do you have?
3. Relationship Goals: Are you looking at engaging yourself in profitable relationships?
4. Job/Work Goals: What level or position do you want to attain in your workplace?
5. Personal Development Goals: What plans do you have to develop yourself mentally?
6. Spiritual Goals: What’s your plan to grow spiritually & get closer to God this year?
7. Business Advancement Goals: As an entrepreneur, what goals do you have for your business?
8. Family Goals: How much time do you want to spend with your family this year?
9. Networking Goals: How many personal & business contacts do you want to build?
10. Health & Fitness Goals: What are your plans to keep fit and exercise?
Remember, for your goals to be achieved, you should note the following strategies: Put God first in everything and let Him direct you (Prov.3:5-6); identify the goals you want to achieve, write it down (it doesn’t make sense storing it in your brain) Habakkuk 2:1-2; set the date for completion; list the obstacles to reaching the goal; write and date the action steps you would take to reach the goal; prioritize your goals; review and track your progress on schedule; update any goal, date, or action step that isn’t working; finally, stand in faith (Rom.1:17) and in prayer (1 Thes.5:17) to see the fulfillment of all your goals (2 Timothy 4:7-8). Remember, you can’t leave your life to chances this year. Setting and achieving goals is an essential part of life if you want to be successful. If you have no goal for your life, you’re heading nowhere. More importantly, you can never achieve your goals when you lack clarity of what you want to achieve, and also not putting the above outlined strategies in place. Be intentional about what you want to achieve in 2023, and pursue it with all passion. Wishing you a joyful and fulfilling 2023. Have a Fantastic Week. With love, Elvis!
