Little Things That Takes Believers To Hell

Friends, greetings in Jesus Name! Today I will be addressing an unusual topic I title, “Little Things That Takes Believers To Hell.” I know some may wonder: Why not “Little Things That Takes Believers To Heaven”. Well, let truth be told, there are many believers who have died and are in hell. Many Christians classify sin – thinking hell is for unbelievers who commit terrible atrocities like murder, armed robbery, etc. For your information, there is no “Big or Small” sin in the sight of God. Sin is sin irrespective of who commits it – believer or unbeliever. Recently I watched a heart-wrenching movie on rapture. It was so pathetic to see how many believers were left behind. In the movie, one tongue-talking Deacon of a church was lamenting that the reason he missed it was his incessant malice and bitterness against his wife.

Today we have born again Christians who go to church, pray often, speak in tongues, support missionary work, evangelize and even cast out demons. But surprisingly, with all their allegiance to Christ and to the things of God, their names are not in the book of life. The question is why? We must understand that as Christians, being born again is not an automatic ticket to heaven when our life is not in order. The Bible says in Col.2:6-7, “As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith.” From this scripture, we can confirm that there is a way to live after we receive Jesus – and that is to examine the life of Christ and follow his footsteps as he did.

God revealed to me that the reason why many believers will found themselves in hell is the absence of the fruit of the spirit in their lives, especially – Love! “Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing” (1 Cor. 13:1-2). In Gal.5:18-23, the Bible outlines the fruit of the spirit and also the works of the flesh. The route to hell creeps in for believers when they do not manifest the fruit of the spirit, but indulge in the works of the flesh, such as – offence, envy, strife, bitterness, anger, lust, pride, hatred, unforgiveness, lies and so on.

Listen, God has a standard. And He does not intend to lower it. You either fall in line or fall out. It will be wrong to think that God will always understand if you “sin a little and confess a little”. I tell you God will not understand. Why? If death caught up with you in your sinful act, there will be no remedy. The Bible says that no unclean thing shall enter heaven (Rev.21:27). We become unclean when we manifest the works of the flesh as Christians. Now evaluate yourself: Are you having a hard time forgiving someone? Do you easily explode in anger? As a Christian, you may be so good in evangelizing, praying, preaching and casting out devils, but if any of these things outlined above is found in you when you appear before Jesus, then He will say to you those painful words – “I Never Knew You”. As you go this week, become conscious of manifesting the fruit of the spirit. With Love, Elvis!
