Living By God’s Word

Friends, greetings in Jesus Name. Today I will be sharing with you what I title, “Living By God’s Word”. Beloved, this is that time of the year when prophetic declarations from various ministers of God become so rampant. In this hour, you will be hearing things like: It is your year of glory; your year of favour; your year of new beginning; your year of victory; your year of power; the year all your enemies will die, and so on. Unfortunately, the year will come and go, and it would look as though God did not show up. Then some will be asking: Didn’t God say it is our year of open doors? Why are all the doors still shut against us? Has God lied to us? You see, God cannot lie (Numbers 23:19). There are two ways to look at this matter. First, we must run by the prophetic declaration made by God through his servants. The prophetic declaration upon your life needs action. It won’t just happen on its own if you do nothing. God cannot say to you that the year 2025 is your “year of success” but you decide to sleep all through the year doing nothing, and still expecting success to happen. No way! You will have poverty enough if you follow that route. The Lord said, “I will bless the works of your hands” (Deuteronomy 2:7). Meaning, your success can only come by diligence, not by laziness.
Second, God can only back up the prophetic declaration made by him, not the ones manufactured by men. Indeed, we have many “prophet-lying” prophets in town who proclaim what God did not say. The Lord spoke through Prophet Jeremiah 14:14 saying, “The prophets prophesy lies in My name. I have not sent them, commanded them, nor spoken to them; they prophesy to you a false vision, divination, a worthless thing, and the deceit of their heart.” You see, God and His word are one. He can’t bring into reality or to pass any spoken prophecy not backed by Him. If He does, it will negate His personality. Can the spoken words by the true prophets of God come to pass in this season? Absolutely YES! While meditating on God’s word this past weekend, the Lord laid in my heart two critical things to embrace in this season: (1) lay hold on my words and instructions; (2) put no trust in anybody or thing, except Me (Proverbs 3:5-6). In other words, “I will lift up my eyes to the hills – from whence comes my help? My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth” (Psalm 121:1-2).
Today, the world economy is going through a great turmoil. Many businesses are shutting down, families facing untold hardship across nations, people losing their jobs, and famine looming at us. Despite all these, it is only the word of God that can bring healing and succor to the dying world. “For the word of God is quick and powerful” (Hebrew 4:12). A life deficient of the “word of God” at this present time, has little chance of survival considering the level of economic crisis facing the world today. Proverbs 4:20-22 declares, “My son, attend to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Let them not depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart. For they are life to those that find them, and health to all their flesh.” You can imagine what will slowly happen to one’s life that blatantly chooses to ignore God’s word at this critical hour. Really, this is not the time for you to live your life carelessly by guessing. To prosper and succeed in this time, you must live your life intentionally by focusing on God’s word. The book of Joshua 1:8 says, “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.”
Hear me, the greatest need of man is not money, riches, or wealth, but God. Money will fail. In fact, money will come and fly away. Today, investments are failing, with stock markets crashing every day globally; but one with God is the Majority. You will have it all – money, riches, secured investments, abundance, eternal life, including peace of mind in the midst of chaos and wailing – if you have Christ in you (Matthew 6:33). “For without me you can do nothing”, says the Lord (John 15:5). It is what God is saying right now – in this season – that should matter more than any other thing in your life. To live by God’s word, means to study, meditate on it, incline your ears to his instructions, and to allow his words to shape your thoughts and actions. Therefore, choose to live purposefully by God’s word and instructions. It is the only guarantee you have to navigate successfully in this perilous time. Hallelujah! So, what do you do now? Just roll up your sleeves and begin to soak yourself in the “Word of God”. Colossians 3:16 says, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly.” I have come to realize that the easiest way to hear from God is to spend time in His word. Spend quality time in the bible searching out what God is saying about any situation; and then receive daily instructions and strategic wisdom tools you need for your daily survival. Hallelujah! Have a Blessed and Fantastic Week. With love, Elvis!
