Maximizing God-Given Opportunities.
Friends, greetings in Jesus Name! Today we shall be looking at what I title, “Maximizing God-Given Opportunities.” One of the greatest burdens of life is to be begging for what you already have. The book of 1 Cor.3:21 declares that “All things are yours”. Meaning, all that you need to succeed in life and become who God has created you to be, has been made available right from creation. The major setback holding most people today is ignorance, and their inability to see and possess what is rightly theirs. Someone once defined being POOR as “Passing Over Opportunities Repeatedly”. What is Opportunity? It simply means “A time or set of circumstances that makes it possible to achieve or do something”. This is the more reason why you should always make a demand and grab any opportunity that presents itself before you, because it may not always be there. And to do so, you must always be prepared. As the adage says, “Success occurs when preparation meets opportunity,” Listen, life does not give you what you want. It only gives you what you make demand for. If you sit back and do nothing, you get nothing. “And from the days of John the Baptist until now the Kingdom of God suffers violence, and the violent take it by force” (Matt.11:12). Until you place a demand for what is rightfully yours, the devil will confiscate your goods. Oh yes, fortune favors the bold, not the lazybones who slack and are fearful.
Now, to maximize God-Given opportunities, there are giants to conquer. As already outlined, some of these giants include fear, ignorance, inaction, and unpreparedness. By profession, I am a management consultant, trainer, and coach. I have had the singular opportunity to give trainings to organizations that came at a very short notice. Really, these are trainings that demands high level research, understanding, and technical ability. Now, here am I getting a call to present the training under 24 hours before a group of top managers and executives of an organization. You know what? If I wasn’t prepared for that opportunity, I would have declined by giving a flimsy excuse. But such an excuse would come with an opportunity cost. Meaning, losing a huge income, and probably losing further opportunities that would arise from that singular opportunity. Lots of time I see people seeking and looking for opportunity, while there are many around them. As believers in Christ Jesus, there are many opportunities available to us. As a matter of fact, there are seven major opportunities around you today as a child of God.
Really, let me focus on one, which is the opportunity of utilizing the gift of God upon your life. Like I usually tell people, no one is born useless. Each one of us existing on the surface of the earth is a gold mine waiting to be tapped. Yes, you’re LOADED! Sometimes I meet talented people asking me to help them get a job. Unfortunately, I discovered that most of them do not see what I see about them. In other words, they are meant to be “job creators” not “job seekers”. In fact, they do not know what they carry on the inside. Usually, I redirect them to themselves – to their gifts and talents – not to any company, going about with their CVs. The bible says in Matt. 25:15, “To one he gave five talents, to another two talents, and to another one talent, depending on each one’s ability”. Let me say emphatically that you lack nothing. All you need to do is to get unleashed. Well, some will say there is need for preparation by getting a job first. I have no problem with that. But if after years of searching for a job, and nothing happens; should you stay jobless, helpless, and useless as we can see many today? Absolutely not! This is where you must make a choice to employ yourself by unleashing and putting your calling, gift, talent, and skills on display like Billy Graham, Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Aliko Dangote, Steve Jobs, Martin Luther King, and a whole lots of others, who chose to pursue their dreams and unleash their God-given potentials without seeking for a job, but rather employing themselves and providing jobs opportunities for thousands of others. Listen, the whole world awaits the manifestation of what God has placed on the inside of you (Romans 18:19). It should begin Now!
Remember, your talents and gifts are your personal brand packaged from heaven. It sets you apart. The beauty about it is that you will always find people who need what you carry. Once unleashed, it will be of high demands in the market. What God has deposited inside you is too heavy to be ignored. It will always announce you. But not utilizing your gifts puts you to a disadvantage. Why? “A man’s gift makes room for him, and brings him before great men” (Proverbs 18:16). David’s gift of playing string instrument brought him to the palace to meet King Saul even before he became the king (1 Samuel16:14-23). What are you good at doing? What is your Passion? What talent has God given you? Are you aware of it? If yes, are you putting it to use? Personally, what I do today is something I am so passionate about and enjoy doing the most. Outside of it, I can’t find fulfillment. Really, until a man discovers himself, he cannot recover himself from shortages in life. One major life’s shortage is not knowing who you are as a person. I pray you will not die without utilizing your God-given potentials in Jesus Mighty Name. Hallelujah! Have a Blessed and Fantastic Week. With love, Elvis!
