Possessing A Militant Mindset.

Friends, greetings in Jesus Name! Today, I will be sharing with you what I title “Possessing A Militant Mindset.” Let me begin by saying that, we have one common enemy called The Devil. He is so interested in what God is doing in our lives. His interest is just simple – to scatter God’s plan and purpose for your life – and rendering you a vagabond. He wants to ensure that you do not fulfill your destiny. Satan is an excellent Prison Warder who ensures that his captives remain perpetually in prison. Isaiah 14:17 says, “He opens not the house of his prisoners.” One thing you must understand about the activities of Satan is that, he doesn’t need an invitation to come to you. He always come uninvited. He keeps lurking around seeking for the slightest opportunity to invade your life. Whenever any door to your life is unguarded, he comes in. Jesus declared in Revelation 3:20, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.” God will not force His way into your life. He won’t coerce you to take a decision against your will. Unfortunately, this is not the case for the devil. Whether you invite him or not, he wants to come in, and have his way into your life. This is the more reason you must stand your ground, and give no place to the devil. Satan gauges your temperature to know if its’s conducive for him to come. Why? He can’t stand heat. Flies do not play around a hot pot.
The bible says in Genesis 3:1-4, “Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden? And the woman said to the serpent, we may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die. Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” You know the rest of the story. Hear me, Adam and Eve didn’t have to invite the devil to the garden where they live. Why? Satan was always around the vicinity seeking for an opportune moment to strike. The bible says in Job 1:6-7, “Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan also came among them. And the LORD said to Satan, from where do you come? So, Satan answered the LORD and said, from going to and fro on the earth, and from walking back and forth on it.” From the above scripture, you can see that the devil is always restless, presenting himself invited where he is not invited.
There is an adage in my place that says, “You cannot stop the bird from flying over your head. But you can stop it from making a nest on your head.” In the same vein, you cannot stop Satan from tempting you, but you have the authority and power to stop him, and issue him a command to get out whenever he presents himself. Yes, he will always come around, but never relent in commanding him to get out. The scripture declares in Luke 4:13, “Now when the devil had ended every temptation, he departed from Jesus until an opportune time.” Meaning, he will return again. But you must be militant against him to never give him a foothold in your life. Jesus said in John 14:30, “For the prince of this world (Satan) comes, and has nothing in Me.” It is when Satan finds something in you that looks like him, that he latches on you. As the saying goes, “Like attracts like.” Yes, it’s a law of attraction proposing that similar things are attracted to one another. It means that people tend to attract people who are similar to them, and so is the devil.
From nowhere, Satan staggered into the garden, and immediately began a conversation with Eve. Unfortunately, Eve got interested in the conversation, and both had a common ground to relate with one another. You know what? Every door you open to the devil, he enters and get himself entrenched. He’s one pathetic visitor that doesn’t want to leave when he visits. He doesn’t know when to go, except you die. Painfully, when he enters, he doesn’t act as a visitor but as the landlord. Meaning, he takes over immediately he enters, and begins to control your life. No wonder the bible tells us, “Give no place to the devil, lest he should take advantage over you” (Ephesians 4:27; 2 Cor. 2:11). Why? It’s because according to John 10:10, “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” Who is the thief here? The Devil. And how are we supposed to handle him? With kid gloves? No! We’re to handle him with a militant approach. If Eve had rebuked the serpent from the onset, there would not have been room for any conversation, not even to eat the forbidden fruit. But she let down her guard, and likewise Adam who was supposed to take the lead, and chase the unwanted visitor out of the garden. Unfortunately, Adam joined in the feast, took a bite, and brought condemnation to entire human race. I pray as you go this week, you will not entertain the devil in your life in the Mighty Name of Jesus. Have a Blessed and Fantastic Week. With Love, Elvis!
