Power, Love, and Sound Mind

Friends, greetings in Jesus Name! Today I will be sharing with you on what I title, “Power, Love, and Sound Mind”. As a believer in Christ Jesus, you have been fortified by God to withstand any challenge or circumstance that may come your way. Knowing the danger which the power of fear posits, the word of God declares in 2 Tim.1:7, “For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. When you received Christ and became born again, you were born into power. John 1:12 said, “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.” And in Luke 10:19 Jesus declares, “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” Meaning, with this power, fear has no foothold over your life. But for this power to be made manifest and overflow through you, you must bear the love of God in your heart.
Remember, “God is love (1 John 4:8). And you cannot operate outside His nature and expect His power. God’s fullness in your life cannot be perfected without love (1 Cor.13). Where there is no love, you find hatred; and where there is hatred you find every evil work, including fear. According to 1 John 4:18, “Perfect love casts off fear”. And a life that is gripped and tormented by fear cannot equally have a sound mind. Romans 1:17 says, “The just shall live by faith”. Just like “living by faith”, we are also required to “think in a certain way” so we can operate with a sound mind. “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus” says Philippians 2:5. “For we have the mind of Christ” (1 Cor.2:16). What is the mind of Christ? It is a mind that is void of corrupt thinking. A mind that is mindful of Godly things and fully dedicated on meditating on God’s word. Such is the mind of Christ!
How do we attain such level of mindset? Remember, when we became born again, our mind didn’t get born again. It remained intact, unlike our spirit which was reborn at new birth. To tame the mind from going astray, the Lord gave us a task to do. Romans 12:2 says, “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind.” We renew our mind by thinking right and feeding on the word of God. To guide how we should think, Phil.4:8 says, “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” The Lord Jesus has given us power, love and a sound mind; but we need to live a certain way to activate it in our lives. As you go this week, just know that the spirit of fear has no dominion over you. Christ lives in You. Have a Fantastic Week. With love, Elvis!
