Prerequisites for Divine Promotion (Part 4)

Friends, greetings in Jesus Name! Today, we shall continue on our series titled, “Prerequisites for Divine Promotion”. In our previous series, we looked at various prerequisites that necessitates divine promotion. And these include: Seeking first the kingdom of God, obedience to God’s command, and humility. Please, if you have missed out on this series, you can catch up by visiting the above website. Now, we shall be looking at the next prerequisite on the list, which is “Following God’s Plan and Purpose for your Life.” Jeremiah 29:11 declares, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” An expected end is a desirable future with great accomplishment and rich fulfillment. Really, operating outside of God’s architectural design and plan for your life is to short-circuit your progress and promotion. Yes, it is a total disaster living outside purpose. If you do a thousand things, but fail to do the one thing that God has purposed for you to do in life, you will not fulfil purpose. Purpose is your reason for being or existence. Today, many have become a square peg trying to fit into a round hole. Unfortunately, they live outside of God’s intended purposes and plan for their lives. The book of 1 John 3:8 says, “For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.”
Jesus knew why he was here on earth. And the bible declares, “Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people. Then His fame went throughout all Syria; and they brought to Him all sick people who were afflicted with various diseases and torments, and those who were demon-possessed, epileptics, and paralytics; and He healed them. Great multitudes followed Him—from Galilee, and from Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea, and beyond the Jordan” (Matthew 4:23-25). You get divinely promoted when you locate and key into God’s purpose for your life. This is the more reason it becomes so crucial that you discover why you were born very early in life. Unfortunately, a lot of people are running behind schedule. They leave what will promote their lives by engaging in meaningless activities. Look, you won’t have all the time you want on earth (Genesis 6:3, Psalm 90:12). It is Fixed! If you’re to live say 80 years on planet earth, and in God’s agenda for your life, you are to key into your divine purpose at age 20, then it means you have 60 years to accomplish what God has planned for your life. But if you only discover it at age 65, which is already a retirement age, it means you have wasted 45 years of your life doing wrong things, with just 15 years left. Really, it’s nearly impossible to achieve 60 years program in 15 years, except by God’s intervention.
Jesus declared in John 9:4, “I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night comes, when no man can work.” Indeed, there is a morning time of life, and the evening time of one’s life. Your energy is at its peak at your morning time of life (which is your youthful age); but weak and worn out at your evening time of life (which is your old age). Today we see many aged or old people begging on the street for their daily survival. Why? It is because they abandoned their duty post at the early part of their lives. There is an adage that says, “The person running ahead of you in life is not smarter than you are; it’s just that he is doing early what you’re doing late.” The question is: What are you doing late that your contemporaries are doing early? It’s simple: “Purpose discovery and Purpose accomplishment.” Knowing why you are here and working at it, puts you ahead in life; lacking understanding of it, puts you behind and at the mercy of others. Living a purposeful life attracts God’s seal of approval in whatever you do. Yes, it’s a sure path to endless promotion and greatness in life.
Proverbs 22:29 says, “Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.” Which business is this scripture talking about? You want to know? It is a purpose business. Yes, a divine business uniquely carved for your life by the predetermined counsel of the Almighty God. Remember, your purpose business is God’s business. It’s what he has designed for you to do. No wonder Jesus said to his parents at age 12, “Why did you seek Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father’s business?” Apostle Peter wrote saying, “Brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble” (2 Peter 2:10). Today, many are stumbling into demotion rather than promotion, because they are working at cross-purposes with God’s agenda for their lives. I pray that you and I will discover and key into the reason why we are here on earth, so that the Lord will honour and promote us in due season in Jesus Mighty Name. have a Fantastic Week. With love, Elvis!
