Prerequisites for Divine Promotion (Part 5)

Friends, greetings in Jesus Name! Today, we shall continue on our series titled, “Prerequisites for Divine Promotion”. Really, it has been an exciting time on this topic. So far, we have looked at several prerequisites that necessitates divine promotion. As earlier noted, if you have missed out on this series, you can catch up by visiting the above website. The next prerequisite I have on my list for divine promotion is, “Unleashing your God-Given Talents.” What is talent? Talent is any natural or special gift; special aptitude or ability. Yes, talent is our natural endowment given to us by God. Indeed, there are lots of benefits in deploying your talents which include: Excelling in life, being fulfilled (you can never be fulfilled in doing what you hate), finding purpose and joy (your talent is not necessarily your purpose, but points and enhances the fulfilment of your purpose in life), and great financial rewards (today we see the likes of Travis Greene, Sinach, BJ Sax, Nathaniel Bassey, and others in different fields getting financially rewarded for deploying their God-given talents). Now, there are four facts you must know about talent. Everyone (whether born again or not) has a talent, We are expected to use our talents, If you don’t use your talent you lose it (Matthew 25:24-30), and finally, you will give account for the stewardship of the talents that God has given you.
The bible declares in Matthew 25:14-19, “For the kingdom of heaven is like a man traveling to a far country, who called his own servants and delivered his goods to them. And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability; and immediately he went on a journey. Then he who had received the five talents went and traded with them, and made another five talents. And likewise, he who had received two gained two more also. But he who had received one went and dug in the ground, and hid his lord’s money. After a long time, the lord of those servants came and settled accounts with them.” Now, if you read further down in this chapter, you will find out that on the day of reckoning as their master returned, the one with five talents doubled his talents to ten, and likewise the one with two talents doubled his own to four. But unfortunately, the one that was given one talent did nothing but buried his own, like so many people are doing today. If I may ask: What are you doing with the talents that the Lord has given you? Are you deploying it into use or it is being buried? Listen, the worst thing that could ever happen to you in life, is to be begging for what you already have. Sadly, many are in that pathetic state. Unfortunately, they don’t know what they carry on the inside that can promote and launch them forth to limelight.
Proverbs 18:16 says, “A man’s gift makes room for him, and brings him before great men.” What do you have that can bring you before Kings and Presidents? It is the gifts and talents that you have, and had put into use, that ushers you before great men. It is no wonder the likes of “Aki and Pawpaw” and “Basket Mouth” dines with Kings and receiving national honours, because they have been able to locate and deploy their talents. There are many people today that the Lord wants to promote through their talents, but unfortunately, they are stuck in their comfort zones. A sizeable number of them are doing “8am-5pm” jobs that is sapping their lives to death. Is anything wrong with “8am-5pm” jobs? Absolutely not! After all, you need the money and experience. But you must know your higher calling, and quit, if you must. A large number of people have dedicated all their youthful lives and energy doing jobs that they hate, with no passion and fulfilment. Listen, life is meant to be enjoyed, and never to be endured. Jesus said, “For the thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that you may have life, and that you may have it more abundantly” (John 10:10). The devil has stolen enough from you. What’s left? Is it until he kills you before you know what to do? It is time to stir up and unleash what the Lord has deposited in your life for the benefit of mankind. Hallelujah! Apostle Paul said to his spiritual son, Timothy, “Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands” (2 Timothy 1:6). There is a gift in your life that should never be allowed to die with you without being unleashed. We will continue from here by next week. Till then, have the most fulfilling and fantastic week. With love, Elvis!
