Start your Day with God.
Friends, greetings in Jesus Name. Today I will be sharing with you what I title, “Start your Day with God.” Let me begin by saying that, the way you start your day will largely affect how your day will go, and ultimately end. Some people experience a bad day, while others experience a good day. In Genesis 1, the bible gave us the account of God’s creation. Really, every event that took place each day of the entire six days of creation, the bible declares that “God saw it was good”. In other words, there was no bad moment for God on each day of creation. God saw each day as good as the previous day. In verse 31 of Genesis one, the scripture says, “Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So, the evening and the morning were the sixth day.” Listen friend, if you wake up each day starting with God, you end up experiencing a good day filled with rich fulfilment of God’s blessings. But if you start out the day entertaining Satan’s thoughts, then you end up experiencing a bad day filled with mental torments, fear, depression, frustration, despair, anxiety, pains, and just name it.
Today, the entire world is under siege and attacked by the devil. Satan isn’t joking. Why? He knows he has but a very short time. Revelation 12:12 declares, “Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time.” As a result of his limited time at hand, the devil has unleashed his “oppressive invasion” against man to an alarming rate. If you observe recently, you will notice the rate at which people are taking their lives. Really, you do not start your day with God and entertain a suicidal thought. It’s impossible because your mind is filled with good thoughts (Philippians 4:8). Unfortunately, the number of suicides has soared because many start out each morning with satanic thoughts. Committing suicide has become so normal for both the young and old alike. Many today are getting tired of life, and the only escape route from their demonic mental oppression is to take their own life. What a terrible way to go. The devil is putting more pressure on the soul of man. He has nothing good to offer to any mortal being. He hates you with perfect hatred. He’s only out to steal, to kill, and to destroy your life (John 10:10). That is why the Lord tells us, “Give no place to the devil (Ephesians 4:27). Lest Satan should take advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices (2 Corinthians 2:11).
Hear me, God created man specifically for his glory and to display his splendor (Isaiah 43:7). The bible declares in Revelation 4:11, “Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power; For thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure, they are and were created.” Hallelujah! For God’s glory to be made manifest in our lives, such that we bring pleasure to him, we must learn to solely depend on him and live for him. Yes, we can’t survive outside of Christ. Jesus declared in John 15:5, “Without me you can do nothing.” Cutting off yourself from God equals death. You may not die immediately in the physical, but you’ll be spiritually dead, and sooner you will die physically. This was the experience of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. When they turned back against God and embraced Satan, they became alienated from God. They died instantly spiritually, and later died physically. This unfortunate incident was never God’s original plan for man. Yes, death was never part of God’s agenda for man when he placed them in the garden of Eden (Genesis 2:15). Unfortunately, man chose death rather than life. From the very moment man disobeyed God, he became the architect of his own downfall.
Now, how do we start each day with God? It’s as simple as starting the day with God’s word. I was listening to a preacher this past week telling us the “Power of BBB Principle.” BBB is an acronym which stands for Bible Before Breakfast. In other words, before starting out for anything each morning, the first thing that comes to mind must be your bible to know what God is saying to you for that day. Hear me, “A day lived without spending time on God’s word is a day wasted. “My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart; For they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh” (Proverbs 4:20-22). Listen, if you wake up each day not paying attention to God’s word, you miss out what he has for you for that particular day. Remember, “He daily loads us with his benefits” (Psalm 68:19). But his “Daily loads of benefit” can only be accrued to you if you pay attention to his words. Yes, the sun, the moon, the breath of life that we have, are all God’s daily benefits to mankind. But there are other things you need to make life more enjoyable and peaceable for you.
Apostle James admonished us saying, “Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls (James 1:24). How can you truly know God whom you do not take time to fellowship together in his word to know what he has to say concerning every situation? Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:31-32). It is the daily undiluted word of truth that we receive from God that grants us liberty and access to what has been freely given to us. Hallelujah! Remember, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” (John 1:1). God and his word are one. Therefore, start the day reading his word, and spend quality time in His Presence (Psalm 27:1-4), and his blueprint for your destiny will become clearer to you in Jesus Mighty Name. Have a Blessed and Fantastic Week. With love, Elvis!
