Stay in The Light.
Friends, greetings in Jesus Name. Today, I will be sharing with you what I title, “Stay in The Light.” If you want to expose and make a mess of darkness, put on light, darkness will flee and everything hidden in the dark will be revealed. The book of 1 John 1:5 declares, “This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.” God hates unfruitful works of darkness. The bible said in Genesis 1:1-3, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. Then God said: Let there be light; and there was light. Hallelujah! As long as you stay in the dark, the devil will be boxing you from left, right and centre. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to see him. As a result, you will be fighting like someone beating about the bush not knowing where the next punch will come from. Why? Because you cannot see or wage a good warfare while in the dark.
God knew He needed light to do what He wants to do here on earth. Why? You cannot achieve anything in the dark. The moment light appeared, and God saw that it was good, His creative agenda for the earth began, leading to the creation of man. Ephesians 6:12 declares, “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” Indeed, Satan’s domain is in the dark. He is the ruler of darkness. Therefore, you cannot engage in a fight with him in his house, while he’s holding the key to the door. You have to first and foremost, strip him of his power, bind him, and destabilize all his artillery. Hallelujah! The bible says in Mark 3:27, “No one can enter a strong man’s house and spoil his goods, unless he first binds the strong man. And then he will spoil his house.” Who is the strong man here? It’s the devil. He’s good at keeping what belongs to you to himself, and messing things up for you.
As the ruler of darkness, the devil concocts and executes all his evil schemes in the dark, unknown to your physical eyes. Why? It’s because his deeds are always in the dark. The bible declares in John 3:20-21, “For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.” You see, there’s no relationship between light and darkness (2 Corinthians 6:14). As a believer in Christ, for you to succeed in this realm, darkness must give way for light to take over. Now, wisdom demands that if you’re in the dark and you want to navigate your way to the door, the foremost thing you need is light. You don’t simply stand up in the dark and begin to walk about anyhow.
Growing up in the village, my father always has his torchlight kept beside him at night. Why? Power outage can occur at any time unannounced. As little children, that horrible occurrence usually caused a bit of pandemonium and scare when we suddenly find ourselves in the dark. My dad will immediately scream, “stay right where you are and don’t move”. Then he will put on his torchlight which usually brings some relief. Listen, as long as you remain in the dark, the devil will exercise authority over you. What humbles Satan and his cohorts is light. Now, the bible declares, “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden…Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven (Matthew 5:14,16). Unfortunately, many who are supposed to be carriers of light are languishing in the dark. “And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God” (John 3:19-21).
Beloved, we’re children of light, not of darkness (1 Thessalonians 5:5-6). Remember, God is light. As He is, so are we in this world (1 John 4:17). And in his light, we see light (Psalm 36:9). To walk in God’s light is to walk in the knowledge of His word and obey His commands (Isaiah 1:16-20). The knowledge of His word opens our eyes to the truth. “Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:31-32). The Lord said in Hosea 4:6, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” Ignorance which is the absence of knowledge, has trapped many people in the dark, and sent them into captivity (Isaiah 5:13). I hope you have been richly blessed. Now, “Arise, shine; for your light has come. And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you” (Isaiah 60:1). Hallelujah! Stay in the light and shine forth His Glory. Have a Fantastic Week. With love, Elvis!
