Submit to God & Resist the Devil

Friends, greetings in Jesus Name! Today I will be sharing with you on what I title, “Submit to God & Resist the Devil”. As long as you live here on earth, your number one enemy is Satan. The devil hates mankind. And being a child of God even makes it worse. He constantly aims his arrows at Christians. He has vowed never to rest until he gets at you. But that shouldn’t bother you. You have a covering – the shelter of the Most High God. The bible declares in Psalm 91:1, “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” Hallelujah! No power or force of the devil is strong enough to pluck you from God’s hands. As long as you abide within the confines of this covering, you remain untouchable. As a child of God, you are commanded to stand your ground in the face of opposition. Ephesians 6:13-14 declares, “Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness.”
You are not supposed to retreat or run from the devil. No! You are commanded to “Resist Him”. To be able to resist him, you must first submit to God. “Therefore, submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you” (James 4:7). To submit here means to surrender and give your whole life to God. In other words, being completely sold out to Christ, immersing yourself in prayer, studying and meditating on the word, yielding to the leading of the Holy Spirit, building an altar in God’s presence by spending quality time with Him, and living a life of Faith – “For the just shall live by Faith” (Heb.10:38). With a lifestyle like this, resisting the devil becomes inevitable. Why? You become too hot for him to handle. Have you ever bothered to know why flies do not mess around a hot pot? They only perch on cold pots. That is the more reason why you shouldn’t allow yourself to be cold spiritually. The devil knows when you are strong or weak. And he targets your most vulnerable moments to launch his attack. Now, what is Satan throwing at you? Is it poverty, sickness, joblessness, fear, confusion, etc? As the Bible commands, “Submit to God & Resist him”.
To resist him means, to look at the devil and say, “get your filthy hands off my finance, job, family, business, health in Jesus Name. As you do so by faith, he will flee immediately from you. You must learn how to speak to any mountain daring at you (Mark 11:23). Let me share a personal experience. Sometime ago everyone in my home contracted conjunctivitis (Apollo). It all began one Sunday evening with one of my sons itching and experiencing pain in his eyes. By the next morning, his eyes were swollen and he could not go to school. In the afternoon of that same day, my daughter was affected, and then followed my older son, the nanny, and finally my wife. At this time, I was the only one left. So, my children were all saying – Dad, you are next. On hearing this, I got angry in the spirit and said, “It is impossible”. Then I pointed to Satan and said, “Look Mr. Devil, it’s Enough; get your filthy hands off my family now in Jesus Mighty Name”. You know what? I didn’t get infected because I refused it. And one by one all of them got healed immediately. Remember, “There is power in your Tongue” (Prov. 18:21). Speak the word, submit to God, resist the devil, and he will flee from you in Jesus Mighty Name. Welcome to the month of Grace…Happy New Month. Have a Fantastic Week. With love, Elvis!
