The Reward of Obedience

Friends, greetings in Jesus Name! Today, I will be sharing with you on what I title, “The Reward of Obedience”. Each time we pay heed to God’s command, there is a reward that accrues to our lives in the form of blessings – both physical and spiritual. God’s biggest concern with man has always been the sin of rebellion which ultimately leads to man’s untimely death. God seeks for those who will hear and obey His voice unquestionably. You know God’s ways are not our ways. He usually tries us to know where our loyalty lies. A lot of times we fail woefully on these tests. The fact that God has not answered you does not mean He does not care. The Bible says in 1 Peter 5:7, “For He cares for you”. But can you be patient enough to follow through on God’s agenda for your life? Due to impatience, many have missed God’s plan and purposes for their destiny. King Saul was a typical example of someone who perpetually disobeyed God’s voice, and he lost his kingdom to David (1 Samuel 13:4-14). It is written, “To obey is better than sacrifice” (1 Samuel 15:22). Today you see a lot of people – especially the youths – joining all kinds of secret cults to obtain instant wealth and riches, protection, fame and power. Why? It’s because they aren’t patient to get it God’s way.
Proverbs 28:20 declares that, “A faithful man will abound with blessings, but he who hastens to be rich will not go unpunished.” Listen, all riches and wealth that a man acquires outside of God’s seal of blessing attracts dire consequences. “For the blessings of the Lord makes rich, and He adds no sorrow with it” (Proverbs 10:22). If there is a time to obey God’s word, it is now. This is because the hour we’re living in is very critical. The devil knows it and he is putting more pressure on people to disobey God. But the Almighty God is not deterred by the devil’s pranks. “For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of them whose hearts are loyal toward Him” (2 Chronicles 16:9). Can God find you and I to be faithful before Him? Every obedience to God’s word for your life, takes you a step closer to fulfilling your destiny. I don’t know what the Lord is saying to you right Now. Maybe to cut down on food, pray more, fast often, take your bible study seriously, evangelize to that unbelieving family member or that colleague at work, stop defaulting in your tithes and offering, etc.
Remember, “If you are willing and obedient you shall eat the good of the Land” (Isaiah 1:19). You see, there is an abundance in land, but only reserved for the obedient ones. Those who walk in obedience to God’s command don’t toil in life. The reason why many keep toiling without any fruit to show for their labours in life is disobedience (Genesis 4:1-10). If you can quickly cross-examine yourself to know why things seem not to be working around you, you will be shock to know that it’s at the point where you last obeyed God that things started working against you. Really, you must resolve in your heart that this year, you shall obey God as He speaks. “As you obey and serve Him, you shall spend your days in prosperity, and your years in pleasures” (Job 36:11). Never forget, God blessings upon your life is tied to your obedience to Him. In 2022, “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and the things many pursue after, and killing themselves to acquire will be given to you free of charge” (Matt.6:33). Why? Because you have chosen to follow the path of obedience. The bible declares in 2 Corinthians 10:6, “And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.” Friend, I plead with you by the mercies of God, to never allow your disobedience of 2021 into 2022. Be determined to revenge all disobedience as you obey God this year. You’re BLESSED. Have a Fantastic Week. With love, Elvis!
