Trust in the Lord

Friends, greetings in Jesus Name! Today I will be sharing with you on what I title, “Trust in the Lord”. As humans, we are so quick to rely on what we see than what we cannot see. The fact that God is Spirit does not mean He is far from reality. Even though you may not see Him physically, He is as real as a close friend talking to you. And when He says, “Trust in Me and believe my words to come through in your situation”, you better believe it. The Lord is ever ready to meet our needs, but also interested in knowing where our trust lies – either in Him or ourselves – or possibly in others. What does it mean to trust? To have trust in someone simply means having a strong belief in the reliability, truth, or ability of the individual. God wants us to put our complete trust in Him. The bible declares in Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your path.” Jeremiah 17:5,7-8 declares, “Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength . . . Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, and whose hope is the LORD. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out its roots by the river, and will not fear when heat comes; but her leaf will be green, and will not be anxious in the year of drought, nor will cease from yielding fruit.” Based on this scripture, there are only two options before us where trust is concerned – Man or God.
Listen, when man is the object of our hope, the result is the curse of spiritual barrenness. “Cursed is the man who trusts in man.” Contrariwise, when God is the object of our dependence, the result is great blessing. “Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, and whose hope is the LORD.” Our God is well able to do exceedingly above anything we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). Just because your prayer request before God has not been answered does not mean God has gone on holiday. He has you at the top of His agenda. Remember, His ways are not our ways. He knows the best timing for everything. The worst thing anybody can do is to go against God’s wish by trusting in his or her strength to get things done. The devil is so wicked. Usually, at the very moment God is about to answer your prayer is when he put more pressure on you to go against God’s plan for your life. Really, “For by strength shall no man prevail” (1 Samuel 2:9). A few years ago, I watched a very interesting Christian movie on DoveTV. In that movie, there was a Christian couple that had been trusting God for the fruit of the womb. They had been married for nearly ten years without a child. Many suggestions as to what to do to have children were offered to them. But being devoted believers in Christ, they turned down many of such offers as they did not want to do anything outside the will of God.
You know some mother in-laws have a way of putting pressure on their sons to get another wife, should their daughter in-law be unable to bear children. So, each time the mother in-law visits them, she will so harass her daughter in-law with bad words that could make anyone go insane. Fortunately, the Lord gave a word to the husband telling him that, He will bless them with a baby boy by their tenth-year wedding anniversary. He rejoiced and broke the news to his wife. By this time, his wife was already giving up hope. Someone had told her about a prophet in town that could pray for her by giving her some concoction to drink, and she will get pregnant instantly. While having a discussion with her husband, she hinted him about meeting this prophet. The husband warned her sternly to not try it, but she should rather rejoice as the Lord has promised to bless them with a son. Unfortunately, she did not pay heed to her husband’s advice, but secretly went behind to see the prophet. Unknown to her, she was already five weeks pregnant at this time. When she arrived to see the prophet, the demonic spirit operating at that evil altar, told the prophet that the woman is already pregnant, but it’s unknown to her. Then the evil spirit instructed the prophet to give her a poisonous concoction that would terminate the pregnancy, as the baby in her womb is called of God to do damage to their kingdom. This was how the woman drank the concoction, and was later rushed to the hospital, but realized she was already pregnant. Unfortunately, she lost both the pregnancy and her womb.
In reality, isn’t this story the sad situation for many people today, who at the verge of their breakthrough missed their blessings simply because they lost hope in God at the time God was nearest to them? Listen, the word of God can never fail (Isaiah 55:11). If God has said it, He will do it (Number 23:19); if He has promised, He will fulfill it (1 Thes. 5:24); His word is yea and Amen (2 Cor. 1:20); Forever, O Lord, your word is settled in heaven (Psalm 119:89). The Lord is ever faithful. Really, it is us that are unfaithful and never stable. Remember, “Cursed is the man who trusts in man, and makes flesh his strength, whose heart departs from the LORD…Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, and whose hope is the LORD. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters” (Jeremiah 17:5-8). Never give up on God. He is never too late or too early, but be rest assured that God will always be right there on time. Just give Him praise in any situation you find yourself or are facing right now. Trust Him, and He will see you through in Jesus Mighty Name! Have a fantastic week. With love, Elvis!
