Walking In God’s Favour

Friends, greetings in Jesus Name! Today, I will be sharing with you what I title, “Walking In God’s Favour”. The bible declares in Psalm 5:12, “For you, O Lord, will bless the righteous; with favour you will surround him as with a shield.” What exactly is Favour? According to the Oxford dictionary, the term favour simply means, “An approval, support, or liking for someone or something; it is an act of kindness beyond what is due or usual.” On the other hand, we can describe God’s favour as “tangible evidence” that a person has the approval of the Lord. When God’s favour is upon a man, everything he touches or does prospers. Why? Because God delights in him. “For the Lord delights in the prosperity of his servants” (Psalm 35:27). Those that the Lord favours, He delights to see them strong and doing exploits (2 Chronicles 16:9). Isaiah 66:2 says, “These are the ones I look on with favour: those who are humble and contrite in spirit, and who tremble at my word.” Jesus is the righteous one. While on earth, he walked in divine favour. “And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.” Jesus’ ministry was characterized by continuous increase in God’s favour.
In life, you are either increasing or decreasing in favour. You see, favour is what sets you apart from others. What others toil and work so hard to achieve, you achieve with ease by favour. In 1 Samuel 2:9, the bible says, “For by means of strength shall no man prevail”. Meaning, it’s not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord (Zechariah 4:6). For instance, Apostle Peter and his gang went out fishing. The bible said, they toiled all night and caught nothing. They felt so frustrated and had given up. You see, grace and favour work hand in hand. Grace has been defined as an “Unmerited Favour of God”. When God’s favour is upon your life, He gives you the grace to achieve outstanding results that blow people’s mind. Now, Peter and his team found favour in God’s sight, and Jesus came into their ship and said to Peter: “Launch your net into the deep. Naturally, he would have argued because they have been launching since morning and caught nothing. But instead of doubting or arguing as some of us will do, Peter replied: “At your word Lord, I will let down the net”. He obeyed! You know what? The fish they have been looking for has been right under them. The bible declared that they caught so much fish that day that their net got broken (Luke 5:1-6). Really, this great miracle is what today’s charismatic preachers refer to as “The Net Breaking Miracle.”
Hear me, the grace of God picks you up where your strength stops. But you must know when to tap into such grace without expending your energy or strength unnecessarily. Today, many people are toiling and expending so much energy with little or no result. Like Peter and the rest of the disciples, these people are so frustrated, and have almost given up in life. Why do you think we have high rate of suicide today? It’s because of frustration resulting from too much toiling without any visible proof or result to show for the labour. God’s Favour is open to everyone of us to tap into. It is your choice. Isaiah 55:1 declares, “Ho, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; And you who have no money, come, buy and eat. Yes, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.” From this scripture, we can see an open invitation calling humanity to come and access God’s treasures without price. The only price tag is heeding the call of invitation. Unfortunately, many will hear God calling them, but refuse to answer. May I announce to you that, enjoying God’s favour is tied to obedience.
Isaiah 1:19 says, “If you are willing and obedient you will eat the good of the land”. It goes further to say in Job 36:11, “If they obey and serve Him, they shall spend their days in prosperity and their years in pleasure”. There are people today who are suffering what I call, “Near Success Syndrome”. They will go for a job interview, do so well in the oral and written test, but when it comes to the final selection, the committee will find one thing or fault to reject them. For others, when it is their turn on the queue to receive something, they will be told it is finished. The painful aspect is that they see the same trend occurring over and over again like a jinx. They lack favour in their lives. But I have good news for you. “In the name of Jesus, every knee must bow” (Philippians 2:10). I command every negative trend in your life to be broken. Right now, I release the favour of God to pursue and overtake you. Proverbs 16:7 says, “When a man’s ways please the Lord, he makes his enemies to be at peace with him”. In other words, even your enemies will begin to struggle to favour you and seek for your good. I pray as you go this week, your ways will be pleasing to God. I see mighty doors of favour opening before you in Jesus Name. Hallelujah! With love, Elvis!
