Walking in Wisdom
Friends, greetings in Jesus Name. I hope you had a very wonderful weekend. Mine was splendid. While resting and meditating this past weekend, I felt led to share with you on “Walking in Wisdom”. One thing every one of us need but often lack is wisdom. The bible declares in Isaiah 33:4-5, “The Lord is exalted, for He dwells on high; He has filled Zion with justice and righteousness. Wisdom and knowledge will be the stability of your times, and the strength of salvation; The fear of the Lord is His treasure.” In the days and times we’re in right now, it can only take the power of wisdom to survive. When I talk about wisdom, it’s not the kind of ungodly wisdom we see in operation today, whose end is destruction. Apostle Paul said, “We speak wisdom among those who are mature, yet not the wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory” (1 Corinthians 2:6-9). Yes, I am talking about the kind of wisdom that Daniel displayed in Babylon that shook the entire realm, that Nebuchadnezzar had to bow before him. Hallelujah!
What is wisdom? It is the ability to perceive the true nature of a situation and to implement the will of God in that situation. Wisdom is the practical application of God’s truth to a specific situation. It is knowing what God wants you to do and then doing it. In Proverbs 4:7 the bible says, “Wisdom is the principal thing. Therefore, get wisdom.” Friend, if wisdom is the principal thing of life, it therefore means that it is a must if you’re to succeed in life. In other words, it’s something you can’t do without if you must live peaceably and survive the treacherous terrains of life. A man who abandons wisdom operates in foolishness. And there’s a heavy penalty to pay when a life is void of wisdom. The bible says in Proverbs 3:19-23, “The Lord by wisdom founded the earth; By understanding He established the heavens; By His knowledge the depths were broken up, and clouds drop down the dew. My son, let them not depart from your eyes — Keep sound wisdom and discretion; So they will be life to your soul and grace to your neck. Then you will walk safely in your way, and your foot will not stumble.” From the above scripture, we can see that our God is a God of wisdom, and we can’t operate any less if we truly want to make an impact for him in this world.
Why do you need wisdom? It’s the wisdom of God that adds beauty to your life as a person and separates you from others; the wisdom of God helps you to foresee danger ahead of time so you can take precaution; wisdom offers you grace and favor – see Joseph in Egypt (Genesis 39); with wisdom, you operate on a high level of divine revelations – see Daniel in Babylon (Daniel 1); wisdom puts a crown on your head, opens impossible doors; makes you a problem solver (Daniel 2); offers you riches and honour and long life to you (Proverbs

. Listen, when someone operates in divine wisdom, it does not take long for those around him or her to recognize it. Why? Wisdom is like a magnet – it draws people to you when you have it. If you are familiar with the story of the Queen of Sheba – she sought for Solomon when she heard of his wisdom. “Now when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon concerning the name of the Lord, she came to test him with hard questions. She came to Jerusalem with a very great retinue, with camels that bore spices, very much gold, and precious stones; and when she came to Solomon, she spoke with him about all that was in her heart. So Solomon answered all her questions; there was nothing so difficult for the king that he could not explain it to her. And when the queen of Sheba had seen all the wisdom of Solomon, the house that he had built, the food on his table, the seating of his servants, the service of his waiters and their apparel, his cupbearers, and his entryway by which he went up to the house of the Lord, there was no more spirit in her. Then she said to the king: “It was a true report which I heard in my own land about your words and your wisdom” (1 Kings 10:1-9).
How does wisdom come? The wisdom of God comes in three major forms. First, the bible says, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom” (Proverbs 9:10). Yes, the fear of God leads to life and delivers from death (Proverbs 19:23). “For whoever finds me – Wisdom – finds life, and obtains favor from the Lord; But he who sins against me wrongs his own soul; All those who hate me love death” (Proverbs 8:35-36). When a man has the fear of God in his life, God begins to empower him with His wisdom above his fellows. Remember, to fear God is to depart from iniquity. The bible declares in Hebrews 1:9, “You have loved righteousness and hated iniquity; Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You with the oil of gladness more than Your companions.” Second, the wisdom of God comes by paying heed to His word. A preacher once said that “God’s Word is God’s wisdom in print. Yes, I believe it. When we receive God’s Word and hide it in our heart, we walk in divine wisdom.
While teaching the multitudes and His disciples who were around him, Jesus said: “Whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand” (Matthew 7:24-26). Third, you receive wisdom by asking. Wisdom is a gift from God. “For the Lord gives wisdom: out of his mouth comes knowledge and understanding” (Proverbs 2:6). The bible said in James 1:5, “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.” The wisdom of King Solomon didn’t latch on him suddenly. He asked for it. Seeing the humongous task ahead of him as a newly installed King of Israel, Solomon realized that he needed the wisdom of God to lead and succeed as King. Immediately, he sought for God’s wisdom and it was granted (1 Kings 3:9-12). Are there issues in your life at the moment that require wisdom? Are there decisions you are about to take right now but aren’t sure which way to go? Then, as you sincerely seek God’s face this week, ask for His wisdom, and it shall be given unto you. Hallelujah! I see you operating on a high frequency of divine wisdom in Jesus Name. Have a Blessed and Fantastic Week. With love, Elvis!
