Friends, greetings in Jesus Name! Today I will be sharing with you on what I title, “Demonstrating the Power of God”. The Almighty God longs to demonstrate His power through us. “For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him” (2 Chron. 16:9). God is not looking for capable people. He is out to empower available people who are ready to avail themselves for His service. We are not born again to conform to this world. We are born again to demonstrate the power of God through the Holy Ghost. I can remember many years ago while living in Johannesburg as a student. I was going to church one Sunday evening and I met a gentleman bent down along the street and was weeping. I tried to ignore him but the Lord urged me to meet him and inquire why he was crying. Then I approached him and asked, “Please what is the problem? He replied: “Can you help me to the other side of the road”. Then I tried lifting him up, but he shouted in pain. Then I let him down and asked further, “what is going on?”

Then he said to me: When I was 10 years, I fell from a tree while playing and I got my waist dislocated which affected my spinal cord. Now I am 33 years, and each time I am walking or going somewhere, my waist will suddenly cease and I won’t be able to move or walk, but bend low for hours until the pain subsides. This is my agony for the past 23 years. I cannot marry nor do anything. It has become a huge stigma in my life.” After he finished his story, I managed with a struggle to lift him to the other side of the road, and I told him sorry and was ready to go, because I was running late for my church service. As I was leaving, the Lord spoke to me saying: “Is that all you have to offer him? Then I turned to the gentleman and asked: “Do you believe in Jesus, and he said yes; then I asked again: Do you believe He can heal you now, and he said yes. Then I asked further, would you like me to pray for you? He said yes. At that moment, I laid my hand on his waist and prayed.

Now this is what happened. Before I could finish praying, there was a noise, as though something was being fixed on his waist. Then he suddenly stood up straight and held me, shouting: I am healed, the pains are over, I can feel it. Meanwhile, people gathered everywhere because they saw the drama going on the street, especially when I lifted him across the road. This brought a mini revival on the street, as the Lord stirred me to preach to all the onlookers that saw what happened. And many gave their lives to Christ as I made an altar call. Why? They saw the miraculous power of God’s healing upon the young man. If I may ask: When last did you lay hands on the sick as a child of God? Do you know what you carry? Jesus declared in John 14:12, “he that believes on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go to the Father.” Beloved, we are called to do greater works. If you believe in Jesus, you have the power to do so. Remember, the whole world awaits your manifestation as a child of God (Rom.8:19). And now is the time. Have a fantastic week. With love, Elvis!
