Friends, greetings in Jesus Name! Today I will be sharing with you on what I title, “He is Risen”. One of the most significant things about Christianity is not that Jesus died. But the fact that He died and rose again from the dead. Hallelujah! This is what differentiates Christianity from others. In other faiths or religions, every person they worshiped or believed in, all died and remain dead with their bones still somewhere in the grave. But Jesus conquered death, and He is alive and live forever more. This is why we celebrate Easter. A period of sober reflection that marks the finished work of Jesus on Calvary. You see, when the wise men from the East declared the birth announcement of Jesus to King Herod, the King was so troubled. Moved by Satan, King Herod killed all the little children from two years old down in Bethlehem, with the hope that Jesus would be among the dead.
From the day Jesus was born, Satan began to plot on how to eliminate him, thinking that killing him will terminate His destiny here on earth. But what he failed to understand was that Jesus actually came to pay the ultimate price of death to redeem mankind. Inadvertently, the devil aided the fulfillment of Jesus purpose by killing Him. And by the time he realized, it was too late because he has been stripped of the mandate that he stole from Adam. The death, burial and resurrection of Jesus marked a very significant purpose in the life of any believer in Christ. “By means of His death, Jesus fulfilled prophecy and bought man’s freedom from slavery to sin. By means of His burial, Jesus removed any doubt that He had really died. By means of His resurrection, Jesus proved He had power over death. In fact the resurrection of Jesus Christ is the greatest proof that He is indeed the Christ, the Son of the living God (Matt. 16:16-18; Rom.1:4).
The death, burial, and resurrection of our Lord are the very foundation of the Gospel by which we are saved (1 Cor. 15:1-4).” Through this trio (death, burial and resurrection), we have a new life. Like Apostle Paul rightly stated, “Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection” (Romans 6:4-5). On that faithful day when he was hanging on that old rugged cross, Jesus echoed to the host of heaven and hell, “IT IS FINISHED” (John 19:30). Satan did not understand. He was so confused. But these “Three Words” marked a significant difference in the life of mankind. Meaning, by my death on this cross, whatsoever Satan could ever bring against you can no longer prevail. Now you have dominion over sin (Romans 6:14), and over Satan (Romans 16:20). Therefore, rejoice! For “He is Risen” and the Glory of the Lord has Risen upon You (Isaiah 60:1). Enjoy the season! Happy Easter! With love, Elvis!
