Friends, greetings in Jesus Name. Today I will be sharing with you on what I title, “Knowing Why You Were Born”. Beloved, there is a purpose attached to your life. It is the reason why you were born. Really, it will be unjust and self affliction to oneself to live and die not discovering the “why” for existence. Have you ever paused for a moment to ask yourself: Am I really living a life of purpose? Do I know God’s plan for my life? Does what I do align with my life’s purpose here on earth? You see, purpose is self discovery. And until a man discovers himself – purpose – he is heading nowhere. Not knowing your life’s purpose is like entering a vehicle at the bus stop, and not being sure of your destination. Your life’s purpose is your GPS. It’s what gives meaning to your life. Without it your life has no direction. Indeed, life becomes an unending struggle where purpose is not known. As the saying goes, “Where purpose is not known abuse is inevitable.” The Almighty God created you with a unique purpose. And if you desire to live a fulfilled life, you must discover it before you die. Discovering your purpose is like hitting a jackpot. It’s the sure path to successful living.
Unfortunately, not discovering purpose is gambling with one’s destiny. Yeah, it’s the surest path to sorrow, unfufillment, and failure in life. A life lived outside of purpose is a total wreck. I am sorry to say that many today are doing things or jobs that they hate. There is something in them crying out for a better life. Some of these people may be earning big salaries or making huge sums of money from what they do. But painfully, they are not fulfilled. Really, that void or emptiness they feel is purpose screaming out loud for expression. And until that void is filled, they can never be satisfied or get fulfilled in life. Recently, a medical doctor friend of mine gave up his practice to start doing something else. To those around him, it’s strange because he’s earning good pay. Why should he give up such a lucrative profession? As the saying goes, “He that wears the shoe knows where it pinches”. Something inside of him is screaming to the roof top to quit and pursue purpose. He obeyed and peace returned to him. Now he has found purpose by doing something that gives him fulfilment and joy. I also know two medical doctors pastoring mega churches today. In fact, there is another one who never practiced for once as a medical doctor, but went into politics, and today is the governor of a state in Nigeria.
If I may ask? What’s that thing crying out loud on the inside of you? What’s that thing in you seeking ways to manifest or find expression? What’s that talent God placed in you that you keep suppressing to unleash because you are afraid to trade it with your current job due to fear of the unknown? You see, those yearnings or dissatisfaction is purpose crying out to manifest. The Lord said to Jeremiah, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations” (Jeremiah 1:5). From the above scripture, it was clear to Jeremiah what his life purpose was all about. If he had shun God’s word to him, and decided to do otherwise, he would have truncated his destiny by living a wasted life. Unfortunately, many today are wasting their destiny by sacrificing it on the altar of meaningless activities. The Lord said in Jeremiah 33:3, “Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.” Why? “Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world” (Acts 15:18). There is nothing hidden from Him.”For the secret things belong to God” (Deut.29:29). “It is God that has made us, and not we ourselves” (Psalm 100:3). “He knows all things” (Psalm 139). Therefore, He has answers to all questions relating to your purpose in life. So, if you are not sure of your purpose, why delay in calling upon God today. He will answer you when you call. Indeed, I am a witness. Have a fantastic week as you encounter Him. With love, Elvis!
