Learn from ME.

Friends, greetings in Jesus Name. Today I will be sharing with you what I title, “Learn from ME.” Learning is an essential part of life. When you learn you know, and when you know you have an edge. The knowledge you acquire increases your level of growth, as growth is a function of learning. Unfortunately, if you’re not growing, you’re dying. Really, in life you must grow where it matters. I remember many years ago, when I returned from work and began removing my work clothes, my little boy who was age two at that time would start to remove his clothes as well. When we’re in church and I start to write as the Pastor begins to preach, my son will start disturbing, asking for paper and pen to write, even though what he’s writing does not make sense. The fact is, he just wants to learn from me and imitate what I was doing. Jesus declared in John 5:19, “Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner.” You see, as believers in Christ Jesus, how you learn and who you learn from matters in life. If I may ask: Who are you Learning from? Who influences what you do on a daily basis? Who do you imitate or pattern your life after? Man or God? Ephesians 5:1 says, “Therefore be imitators of God as dear children.” Hallelujah!
Today we hear people, especially our youths say, “So and so is my idol.” As a result, they pattern their lives to look like the person they idolise. They talk, walk, dance, and dress exactly like their idol. This lifestyle has creeped into the body of Christ. You can quickly observe this in some of the mega churches with popular preachers. In fact, when you encounter some of these believers either on the street or at the workplace, you do not need any further investigation as to which ministry they belong. By their outward appearance and mannerism, you could easily tell the minister of God they’re imitating. Please, do not get me wrong here. There’s nothing wrong in imitating a servant of God, especially if he is pointing you to Christ. Why? Our benchmark for imitation must be Christ Jesus. Apostle said 1 Corinthians 11:1, “Imitate me just as I Imitate Christ.” In other words, follow my example as I follow the example of Christ.” Hear Me clearly, brothers and sisters, I have no problem imitating a minister of God as long as he imitates Christ. If his lifestyle is questionable, then it will be dangerous for me to imitate what I see in him. Hallelujah! I am sorry to say that today, many are being led astray and are doom for destruction due to wrong imitation. Never forget, Christ is our focus. We must therefore, learn of him. Anything short of Christ is doom or damnation.
As believers in Christ Jesus, the Lord has given us a recommended way of Learning and who to Learn from. Jesus declared in Matthew 11:28-29, “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me.” You see, many believers want to walk on water, heal the sick and do miracles like Jesus did, yet they do not want to learn and act like him. Now, what are we to learn from Jesus so we can become his imitators who should represent him well without spot or wrinkle (Ephesians 5:27). As believers, learning of Christ begins with Obedience as He Obeyed His Father. You can’t be a rebel in the house of God and expect Him to exalt you. Philippians 2:8-9 says, “And being found in appearance as a man, Jesus humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore, God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name.” Remember, “If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land; But if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured by the sword; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken” (Isaiah 1:19-20). I will be stopping here today. Next week, we shall continue on the series to examine other things we can learn from Christ. I pray as you go this week, you will learn from Christ and be more like Him. Hallelujah! Have a Blessed and Fantastic Week. With love. Elvis!
