Let God Take All The Glory

Friends, greetings in Jesus Name. Today, I will be sharing with you on what I title, “Let God Take All The Glory”. Beloved, we live in a time and season, where men would rather be seen and acknowledged than God. This is why you often hear preachers, especially some charismatic pastors, make bold assertions about their prophetic pronouncements that came to pass, all in the guise to draw men to themselves, rather than to God. And the Lord God Almighty has been quiet. But now, He isn’t holding His peace anymore. He declares in Isaiah 13:13, “Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the LORD of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger.” Really, the earth is under siege, and it’s being shaken. Yes, we all can attest to the fact by the current happenings. It’s a sign that God is up to something. The bible declares in 1 Cor.1:31, “Let him who glories, glory in the Lord.” And Jeremiah 9:24 goes further to say, “Let him who glories glory in this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the Lord, exercising lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth. For in these I delight, says the Lord.” Hallelujah!

As a servant of God, anytime the focus of people you’re leading shift from God to you, then you have become a god to them. Whenever you minister, and the hearers are screaming, what a mighty man of God you’re, without any reference to God, and you keep taking the honour without due credit to God, the repercussions of such a sin will be waiting at the corner. While speaking in Lystra, Apostle Paul observed the danger of being worshipped by men as a result of his miraculous works; and immediately he tore his clothes along with Barnabas, saying to them “Friends, why are you doing this? We too are only human, like you. We are bringing you good news, telling you to turn from these worthless things to the living God, who made the heavens and the earth and the sea and everything in them” (Acts 14:15). What we see going on in the church today is what my mentor and pastor, Tunde Bakare, would call “The Preacher’s Fan Club”. Rather than become “Jesus Fan Club”, many church members replace God with their pastors. I visited a certain family in the US, and I saw an enlarged photograph of their pastor placed at the family prayer corner like a shrine. They can’t raise any prayer point without mentioning their pastor. In other words, their pastor’s name is a seal of God’s answer to their prayers. Unfortunately, many of such people are being led astray by their so called men of God. Really, it’s no surprising today that there is little or no power of God in the church any longer. Why? Because men have replaced God.

Let’s face the truth. Can you see how Covid-19 has humbled the world, including the church? Have you bothered asking why is the church affected by what affects the world today? The kind of sicknesses and diseases, barreness, joblessness and financial hardship plaguing the world, also plague the church in abundance today. The question is why? You see, God is God, and we are not. He rules in the affairs of men. He set up kings and remove kings. We as Christians must come to the realization that the whole world, both the high and mighty, including the church, have offended God long enough. This isn’t time to throw party anymore. It’s time for sober reflection…taking stock of our lives…to realize how far we’ve gone astray, and then retrace our steps back to God. I believe now is the time for all believers in Christ to go on their knees and intercede for the church. The church has reached a threshold that the only hope is to repent of her sins and call upon God for mercy. For the wise, the only safe place to run to now, is God. Really, a life still bubbling in sin without Christ at the moment is in crisis already. The rate at which things are going presently, the trumpet may sound at any time. So, you and I better be prepared. Yes, we need to set our priority right and return back to our first love – Jesus Christ. The Lord declares in 2 Chronicles 7:14, “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” I pray that the Lord will hear us and heal our land as we do the needful in Jesus Mighty Name. Like the early church, I see the church rising up in power again. Let’s “Go ye” (Matt. 28:19)…it’s time for a great outpouring of God’s revival. Therefore, be counted amongst the Lord’s endtime army. Have a fantastic week. With love, Elvis!
