March Forward

Friends, greetings in Jesus Name. Today, I will be sharing with you what I title, “March Forward”. There is a popular phrase, “Yesterday ended last night.” This is to mean one’s resolve that what hitherto had held you bound before now has no hold over you; all that you have tolerated before now that you shouldn’t tolerate ended last night; all your past mistakes that keep haunting you and holding you bound like a spell can no longer have power over you. In a nutshell, what that phrase is telling us is that, it’s time to march forward, and put the past behind. A few weeks ago, during a Sunday morning service, my pastor asked the entire congregation to stand up. Everyone obeyed and stood up. Then he asked us to look back, we obeyed and faced backward. Then he told us to face forward, and we all looked forward facing him. And he prayed and said to us: That’s the last time you will ever look back. From now on, you will go forward.” A thunderous Amen followed after the prayer. As I got home that day, I immediately took a sheet of paper and wrote: “The last time I looked back was yesterday. Now, from today, I march forward, reaching out to the beautiful plans and purposes of God for my life.” Hallelujah! I pasted it on the wall and it became my daily confession.
Listen friend, we are in the month of March. One significant thing about this month is that it tells you exactly what you need to do to stay ahead, and that is to March Forward. In other words, it’s your month to march forward into greatness, victory, power, glory, grace, favour, anointing, wisdom. It’s the month you cannot afford to stand still and be docile, otherwise you’ll be knocked down or knocked off the road. I pray that will not be your portion in Jesus Mighty Name. Hear me, those who do not march forward will march backward into oblivion. You see, in life you can either march forward or march backward. The choice is yours. The Lord God Almighty declared in Deuteronomy 30:19, “I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore, choose life, that both you and your descendants may live.” It’s God’s intention that we choose life not death. Choosing life is marching forward to your God-given plan and purpose in life; while choosing death is marching backward into retrogression away from God’s purpose. This often occurs when we disobey or disregard God’s counsel for our lives. Jeremiah 7:24 says, “Yet they did not obey or incline their ear, but followed the counsels and the dictates of their evil hearts, and went backward and not forward.”
God is so concerned about our marching forward in life. Why? That’s the way to victory, to conquer the enemy, and recover all that the devil has stolen from you (1 Samuel 30). In Exodus 14:15, the Lord said to Moses, “Why do you cry to Me? Tell the children of Israel to Go Forward.” If you read the entire chapter of Exodus 14, you will see how going backward and not forward can hinder one’s progress and miracle if God does not intervene. The children of Israel had been assured of God’s deliverance from Egypt, but the circumstances surrounding them could not allow them to grasp it. They focused so much on their problems and made it bigger than their God. Whenever you make your problems bigger than God, you limit His hands – a position where He cannot help you (Isaiah 59:1-2). Remember, “Without faith it is impossible to please God” (Hebrews 11:6). You must have faith in God and be determined to go forward without looking back (Mark 11:22-24). Apostle Paul knew it and then wrote, “Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:13-14).
Never forget, the enemy of progress is usually the past – your past mistakes, errors, failures, even your past victories, just name it – that the devil wants you to glue your attention to, and divert your attention from the great future that lies ahead. Like Apostle Paul, until you get to the point, where you say, “enough is enough”, you’re not ready for the victory. As a believer in Christ, you must advance forward now in this month of March if you have not started since January. To advance means you “must” stop looking back. You do not run in a race while looking back at the same time to win a trophy. You must stay laser focused on the finish line in order to obtain the prize. Now, if you have been confused or wasting time since January, not having a clear goal or direction for the year, then make it a point of duty to have it clarified in this month of March. If you go past the month not being sure what the year holds for you, then turn radical and go and settle things with God in prayers. This year must be lived internationally and strategically if you must get to the finish line. Remember, those who march forward in life conquer territories, they do not retreat nor surrender to the enemy, they are rebels with a cause, they are fearless and courageous, they are consumed by the zeal of the Lord, they’re proactive and not reactive, they know what they want and go for it without looking back. This makes them dogged and rugged by nature without giving an inch to the enemy. Hallelujah! Have a Blessed and Fantastic Week. With love, Elvis!
