Only Believe
Friends, greetings in Jesus Name! Today, I will be sharing with you what I title, “Only Believe.” Beloved, let me begin by saying that to be a follower of Jesus Christ, you must first be a believer. Christianity is not a gathering of unbelievers. It is a gathering of those who believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God, who came to redeem mankind from their sins, and deliver them from the shackles of the devil. Hallelujah! “Now when Jesus had crossed over again by boat to the other side, a great multitude gathered to Him; and He was by the sea. And behold, one of the rulers of the synagogue came, Jairus by name. And when he saw Him, he fell at His feet and begged Him earnestly, saying: My little daughter lies at the point of death. Come and lay Your hands on her, that she may be healed, and she will live. So, Jesus went with him, and a great multitude followed Him and thronged Him” (Mark 5:21-24).
From the above scripture, we can see that Jesus actually followed Jairus to go to his house. But there was a break in transmission in that journey. What happened? If you read from verse 25 to 35, the woman with the issue of blood for twelve years surfaced from nowhere and caused a delay to the journey. Unfortunately, news came to Jairus that his daughter is dead, and he should no longer bother Jesus to come to his house. “As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, He said to – Jairus – the ruler of the synagogue: “Do not be afraid; Only Believe” (Mark 5:36). If I may ask: Do you Believe? And what do you believe? Listen, what you believe shapes your life. It will either make or mar your destiny. When you believe in the wrong thing, your life derails. I pray that will not be your portion in Jesus Mighty Name! A man brought his son who was dumb and epileptic to the disciples of Jesus. Unfortunately, the disciples could not heal him. Jesus rebuked his disciples for their lack of Faith. Then he turned to the father of the boy and said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes. Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief” (Mark 9:23-24).
Listen, one of the things that has kept many people bound in bondage and torment of the enemy, has been the deception of unbelief in the power of what God can do in their lives (Hebrews 4:1-3). Like the children of Israel, many so called Christians doubt the power of God to heal and deliver, even when they have experienced it in time past. Wherever you are right now, I want you to open your mouth and say Lord Jesus, I BELIEVE. I believe you died for me (1 Peter 3:18); I believe you rose from the dead (Romans 6:9); I believe you’re seated on the throne in heaven, and I am seated together with you in the heavenly place (Mark 16:19; Ephesians 2:6); I believe through you I am more than a conqueror (Romans 8:37); I believe greater is he that lives in me than he that is in the world (1 John 4:4); I believe if God be for me who can be against me (Romans 8:31); I believe I am the head, not the tail; above only, and not beneath (Deut. 28:13); I believe no weapon formed or fashioned against shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17); I believe the Lord will fight for me and I will hold my peace (Exodus 14:14); I believe I bear in my body the marks of my Lord Jesus and from henceforth let no man trouble me (Galatians 6:17); I believe I am blessed going out and blessed coming in (Deut. 28:6); I believe whatever I set my hands to do shall prosper (Deut. 28:8); I believe I am rich and not poor, Christ became poor for me, so that by his poverty I might become rich (2 Corinthians 8:9). I believe with God nothing will be impossible (Luke 1:37). Hallelujah!
Hear me, one WORD you receive from God and BELIEVE by FAITH will eternally change your life. Yes, one word that Martin Luther King Jr. received from the bible changed him for life. And that word caused a revolution in the United States, and spread to the entire world. What was the word? “For the just shall live by Faith” (Hab. 2:4; Romans 1:17; Galatians 3:11; Hebrews 10:38). Kenneth Hagin of blessed memory was bedridden for about a year and half with an incurable disease. Lying facing up on the hospital bed, without any hope of survival, he gave his life to Christ in that condition. While reading his bible one day on his death bed, he came across Mark 11:22-24 which says, “So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore, I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.” You know what? This scripture was all that he needed. In less than two weeks, Kenneth Hagin rose from his death bed and began to preach. I pray as you go this week, you will not only believe God’s word but become a miracle worker for God’s kingdom in Jesus Mighty Name. Have a Blessed and Fantastic Week. With love, Elvis!
