Peace In The Midst of Storm

Friends, greetings in Jesus Name! Today, I will be sharing with you on what I title, “Peace In The Midst of Storm”. One of the greatest marks of a matured believer in Christ Jesus is the ability to stay Calm in the midst of Storm – the challenges of life. Whether you like it or not – prepared or unprepared – life will always throw at you problems and troubles. What matters is how you respond to the challenges that come your way. Like someone said, “if life throw at you lemon, make lemonade out of it”. It is a choice! That brings me to the story of Jesus and the storm while travelling on a ship with his disciples. “And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. But Jesus was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing? Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still.” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. But He said to them, why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith? And they feared exceedingly, and said to one another, what manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey Him” (Mark 4:37-41).

There are FOUR crucial things I would like to point out from the story we just read: (1) FEAR! The devil knows that as long as you are afraid, even if you have the strength to overcome, you will be paralyzed. Fear renders a man incapable even when he is capable. Jesus said to his disciples, “Why are you so fearful”. Why? He knows that nothing a man wants to do will prosper while fear is present; (2) FAITH! This is your weapon – it is the opposite of FEAR! In the above story, Jesus told his disciples, “How is it that you have no faith?” Satan hates any believer that operates in Faith. In Ephesians 6:16 the Bible declares, “Above all, taking the shield of faith, with which you shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked”. (3) Your Mouth! As a believer, you Must learn to open your mouth to speak and command every mountain that confronts you. Jesus said to the Storm, “Peace, be Still”, and it obeyed. (4) What Manner of Man is this?

This was a question the disciples asked themselves when they saw how Jesus rebuked the storm. The truth is, there is no magic about who Jesus is – and – what He can do if you believe in Him. Jesus said in John 14:12, “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.” The same power Jesus had while on earth, He gave to you and me, and he categorically declared that we that believe in Him will do greater works than he did. Meaning, if he slept on a pillow during storm, then we too, can sleep on a double-pillow when all hell breaks loose against us. It does not matter what comes against you, “Be Unmovable”. Have a glorious week in God’s presence. With Love, Elvis!
