Friends, greetings in Jesus Name! Today I will be sharing with you on what I title, “Pulling Down Mental Strongholds”. How would your life become if you can change all negative thoughts that goes on in your mind to positive? What will happen if you stop entertaining corrupt thoughts? You know what will happen? You will become another man – a transformed being. What has held many people bound to one spot in life has been their mindset. Really, you cannot rise above the level of your thinking. “For as a man thinks in His heart, so is he” (Proverbs 23:7). What changes a man is not his talent, intelligence, or connection. Like John Maxwell wrote, “Talent is not enough”. If talent alone is what changes a man, the person that was given one talent by Jesus shouldn’t have buried his talent (Matt. 25:14-30). What changes a man is mental transformation. A transformed mind rules the world. Romans 12:2 says, “And be not conformed to this world: but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Hear me, a transformed mind is a threat to the devil. You know why? Satan has no rule or control over such mind. Demonic mind-games cannot work on a renewed mind. A transformed mind does not stand on two opinions. It knows what is right or wrong, good or bad, and ultimately makes right choices. This is the dimension the Almighty God wants us to operate as His children.
Many today, including so called believers in Christ, are under the spell of the enemy due to an unrenewed and unregenerated mindset. It should be known to us that someone’s mind can be hijacked by Satan to serve his purposes. Have you been in a situation where you find yourself imagining some wrong thoughts, say murder, lust, suicide, stealing, or strong hatred or bitterness against someone? You know what? Such mind has been hijacked by the enemy at that moment. If nothing is done immediately, such mind will carry out those heinous thoughts into reality. The bible declares in 2 Corinthians 10:3-5, “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds; Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.” As believers, we are to pull down every stronghold and cast down every wicked imagination of the devil that wants to gain it’s entrance into our minds. Yes, you must be vehement and ruthless about it.
To truly overcome, we must spend quality time reading the word of God. We are created to “think God” and not “think-devil” (Phil. 4:8). And God’s word – The Bible – gives us the platform to do so. Joshua 1:8 says, “This book of the law – the Bible – shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” Remember, “We have the mind of Christ” (1 Cor.2:16); “Let this mind be in you that was in Christ Jesus” (Phil.2:5). What kind of mind did Jesus had while on earth? Jesus had a mind that was renewed by the word. No wonder when Satan tempted him, he was able to say to the devil, “IT IS WRITTEN” (Matt.4). Each time the devil tempted him, the only thing that came out from his mouth was the Word of God. Remember, Jesus is the Word. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” (John 1:1). Beloved, there is no other short cut to pulling down mental strongholds other than fixing your mind on the word of God. Have a fantastic week. With love, Elvis!
