Seeking God Wholeheartedly.
Friends, greetings in Jesus Name! Today, I will be sharing with you what I title, “Seeking God Wholeheartedly.” One of the greatest undoing of man from time immemorial has been his independence from God. Listen, man cannot do without God. God is life and the source of life. Once man is cut off from God he withers. To illustrate this vividly, Jesus said in John 15:5-8, “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so, you will be My disciples.” Hallelujah! Outside of God’s covering, man is basically naked and unprotected from the elements. The bible says in Psalm 14:1-3, “The fool has said in his heart, there is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none who does good. The LORD looks down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there are any who understand, who seek God. They have all turned aside, they have together become corrupt; There is none who does good, No, not one.” Beloved, you may not say aloud to the hearing of those around that there is no God. But you say it over and over again by your actions.
As they say, “Action speaks louder than voice.” If I may ask: What’s your first point of call when troubles of life come knocking at your door? Do you pant or shiver? Do you quickly pick up a phone to call someone for help? Or do you look up to God like David and say, “I will lift up my eyes to the hills – from whence comes my help? My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth. He will not allow my foot to be moved; He who keeps me will not slumber” (Psalm 121:1-3). Today people and nations are faced with daunting challenges they have never seen before. Yes, many are at their wits end, not knowing what next to do. Just a glance at CNN or your local television station, you will agree with me that all is not well around the world today. The only recourse you and I have right now is to seek God wholeheartedly. It is only in Him you can find true security. Listen, the only security available right now can only be found in Christ Jesus. Life outside of Christ is in crisis. In the days ahead of us, your property, money or accumulated wealth can’t save. Recently, I saw a notable man being held bound in a foreign land. With all his wealth, connections, and power, freedom seem so far from sight. The only antidote to his present predicament is help from above. This can only come if only he recognizes it and seek the face of God for mercy. Yes, our God is merciful. Jesus said in John 6:37, “All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out.”
Beloved, God is so merciful not to despise any sinner who turns to him for mercy. The Lord spoke through the mouth of Prophet Jeremiah saying, “And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13). You see, God is not complicated. We’re the ones that’s complicated. Jesus declared in Matthew 7:7-11, “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him.” My prayer for you as you go this week is that, your heart shall be set on God to seek His face; and when you call upon Him, He will answer you without fail. Jeremiah 33:3 says, “Call upon Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.” Yes, great and mighty things we do not know is what’s regarded as secrets. But I am glad to announce to you that, “The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but those things which are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law” (Deut. 29:29). Indeed, you and I can only access those secret things that we do not know when we genuinely seek God’s face wholeheartedly. Have a Blessed and Fantastic Week. With love, Elvis!
