The Force of Freedom

Friends, greetings in Jesus Name! Today, I will be sharing with you on what I title, “The Force of Freedom”. The Almighty God created us to be Free! Someone may ask: Freedom from what? You will soon find out. I am one of the avid readers and followers of Rick Joyner’s writings. In one of his books, “Breaking the Power of Evil”, he noted that, “We cannot be who God created us to be without freedom”. The question is: What is Freedom? According to Oxford Dictionary, the term Freedom means, the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants; it also means a state of not being imprisoned or enslaved, but unrestricted and able to move easily. You know God is light (Freedom); Satan is darkness (bondage). Now, the bible declares in 2 Cor.3:17 that, “Where the Spirit of the lord is, there is liberty”. What is liberty? Freedom! Meaning, you cannot walk in the light of God (Freedom) and operate in darkness (bondage). For God is light and in Him there is no darkness at all (1 John 1:5).

In my little understanding of Freedom while growing up, it means to be Free from being caged by anyone, and to do what I want in my own terms without having to beg or kneel before anybody. I also learnt freedom to be dependent upon God, and call upon Him whenever in need or trouble. By the time I passed through my secondary school education, I noticed a new dimension of Freedom. This I saw when I began to read about someone called Nelson Mandela. I realized that freedom isn’t freedom when you are the only one who is free amongst many who are enslaved. In other words, being freed is meant to show others the way to Freedom. If it meant fighting to get it done, or going to jail to achieve it, or even dying to get it done, it must be achieved. In this context of Freedom, I began to see it as something not just for me alone, but for a whole community, nation, and the world at large, who need to be freed from the shackles of the devil. This is what Jesus has done for humanity. “For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten son; that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have an everlasting life” (John 3:16). Hallelujah!

Today, a lot of people are being held captive. Their souls are ensnared by the enemy. Some may ask: Why are people held in captivity? Really, many are lawful captives because of what they have committed. In other words, they are guilty as charged. While others are unlawful captives being held bound for what they know nothing about. There are those who are suffering today for what does not concern them. Some are guilty by association, and for that, are being held captive. Usually I visit prisons in Nigeria, especially the ones in the West. I have met countless people who are held captive that are innocent for what they are being accused off. Listen, I don’t know which area you are crying out for freedom. Today, some are crying out to be free from sickness and disease, bareness, destiny delays, failure at the edge of breakthrough, poverty, lack, mental torments and confusion, and so on. But I have good news for you, “For whom the son of God sets free, is free indeed” (John 8:36). You are indeed free in Jesus Name. The bible declares in Isaiah 49:24-25, “Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered? But thus, says the Lord, even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contends with you.” Right now, I prophesy over your life that chains are broken in Jesus Name. Have a fantastic week. With love, Elvis!
