The Will To Do The Will Of God.

Friends, greetings in Jesus Name. Today I will be sharing with you what I title, “The Will To Do The Will Of God.” There’s a popular saying, “Where there is a will, there is a way.” This is to mean that, if someone really wants to do something, they will find a way to do it, even if there are things that make it hard or impossible to do. Most of the time, the will of man gets overwhelmed by the enormous pressure from satanic onslaught, pressuring him to make a choice against the will of God. You see, the choice to either do good or bad, follow right or wrong, obey or disobey God is ever before us. You cannot wish such choices away. It’s an inevitable part of life. What is of utmost importance is the choice you make at such a crossroad to follow the will of God for your life. Speaking and echoing to the hearing of the children of Israel, the Lord said to them: “I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live” (Deuteronomy 30:19). Hallelujah!
From the above scripture, we can see that the Lord is ever merciful. Not only has He set a choice before us to make, He has also presented a better option for us to choose. Why? It’s because He cares, and more importantly he doesn’t want to leave us with any excuse for making a wrong decision. Above all, God does not want us to perish; and He knows we’re capable of making the wise choice of following His will for our lives if we so desire. You see, when we stand before God on the day of judgment, the consequences of our actions will be so glaring before us without shifting or throwing blame games at anybody (Romans 14:12). This is why it’s so imperative that you walk circumspectly – being careful, prudent, and discreet – to weigh all your actions before you execute (Ephesians 5:15).
Jesus declares in John 6:38, “For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.” He further states in Matthew 7:21, “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.” The question is: What is the will of the Father for us? It’s simply to do those things that are pleasing in God’s sight, for His pleasure, and for our well-being. When you rebel against God’s will for your life, you perish. It is not to your well-being that you perish, and it does not give God pleasure that you die. Thus, the Lord declares in Isaiah 1:19-20, “If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land; But if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured by the sword. For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.” Remember, your will to obey or disobey is your choice.
Jesus cried out before His father and prayed, “Not my will, but yours be done” (Luke 22:42). When Jesus referred to his own will, what does he mean? It means his human desire was in conflict with God’s will. Since Jesus was without sin, he did not have rebellious or sinful desires. Yet as a man, he had a desire to live and to avoid suffering. At that instant that he prayed, he could no longer bear the bombardment of hell raging through his soul. He knew the journey before him at that moment was a journey unto death. As human, knowing he will inevitably face death without recourse, the only deciding factor to continue without throwing up the towel was the submission of his will to the will of his father. He knew that if does not succumb to the will of his father, he would succumb to the pressure.
Listen, there are certain situations you will find yourself in, and you seem not to be able to control the barrage of thoughts coming against you. At such moments you’ll be terrified by fear. You may think God has forsaken you. Then you will be under pressure to make a quick decision to escape the situation. Hear me well, such a decision may look okay, but not necessarily the will of God for you at that moment. What you need to do at such times, is to submit your will to the will of God, and then allow the Lord to guide you with the right decision on how to navigate through the storm to your victory. Friend, I don’t know the situation you’re faced with right now. But I do know that God is able to pull you through to your victory. The bible says in 1 John 5:4, “For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world — our faith.” Put your faith on the line as you yield your will to God’s will today, and you will never be put to shame in Jesus Mighty Name. Hallelujah! Have a Blessed and Fantastic Week. With love, Elvis!
