Untameable

Friends, greetings in Jesus Name. Today, I will be sharing with you what I title, “Untameable”. Sometime ago, I watched a documentary on TV where a lion’s cub was picked by someone, taken away from the jungle to their home, and was being fed with milk using a feeding bottle. The lion grew so big but was tamed, not knowing the other side of its life, that it actually belongs to the jungle, and not to be domesticated living with dogs, cats and humans. But then I realised that the predicament of this lion is not different from many humans, who have been tamed and kept in similar condition by the devil. Ecclesiastics 10:5-7 declares, “There is an evil I have seen under the sun, as an error proceeding from the ruler: Folly is set in great dignity, while the rich sit in a lowly place. I have seen servants on horses, while princes walk on the ground like servants.” What does it mean to be untameable? It means not capable of being tamed, subdued, controlled, or made obedient. As a believer in Christ Jesus, you’re not ordinary. Yes, you’re extra-ordinary. The devil knows it. The question is: Are you aware who you are? This is where the problem is for many. And because they don’t know who they are, the enemy latches on their ignorance, quench the fire they carry, tame them and turn them to errand boys.
Listen, when a man is tamed by the enemy, he loses his voice, becomes timid, incapable of making sound judgment, and unable to exercise his rights and authority. The only antidote to such situation is power in the Name of Jesus. If there’s no divine intervention to save such a soul, he remains perpetually in bondage (Philippians 2:9-11; Isaiah 14:17; 2 Cor.2:11). Sometime ago, I was invited by a Pastor to his church somewhere in Lagos. After the service, we got into a discussion, and he told me how God delivered him from losing his voice. I asked what happened? He told me a rich member of his church became so financially supportive that he became dependent on him to meet the needs of the church. But after some time, his messages began to change to please the man. According to him, he realized that whenever he preaches any hot message that doesn’t go down well with the gentleman, he will walk up to him and warn him. So, being afraid of losing financial support, he began to preach in certain ways not to offend the man, but he realized he was drifting far away from God. But suddenly, he had an encounter with God, repented and made up his mind to obey God rather than man.
Hear me, there are many today who have lost their voices in their places of work, no one knows that they are born again, they don’t witness Christ to their dying colleagues living in sin, they float all through the week, but only to return to church on Sunday roaring like lions. Their Christianity is only exhibited in the four walls of their church. Yes, their power and authority are only felt in the department or unit in which they belong at church. Immediately they leave the church premises, they are tamed all through the week. If I may ask: In what way has the enemy tamed your voice as a believer in Christ? Where are you muted, knowing you should be unmuted and representing Christ? Do you see injustice around you and keep quiet? Is bribing and corruption passing across your table at work, and you smile as it progresses? Do you see those falling into sin and damnation but lack the will to speak up and save them? Do you see those around you oppressed by demons, held bound in various addictions, sicknesses and diseases, but can’t summon courage to pray and command the demons to leave? Jesus is our role model, our example on how we should live and act. Jesus never spared demons whenever he encountered them (Matthew 8:28-32). In fact, Jesus expelled the ones possessing the life of Mary Magdalene with vehemence (Luke 8:1-2). Unfortunately, many today are possessed by demons in the house of God, and the church seems helpless because they are tamed by the devil to accept the status quo. Really, it’s time to go radical, and look at the devil eyeball to eyeball and say to him: Enough is Enough!
In Acts 4, following a huge success of healing the man at the gate of the beautiful, it was recorded that while Peter and John preached to the people, the priests, the captain of the temple, and the Sadducees had them arrested because they taught the people and preached in Jesus the resurrection from the dead. Then the next day, they brought them before the council of their rulers, elders, and scribes and asked them: By what power or by what name have you done this miracle? “Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, “Rulers of the people and elders of Israel: If we this day are judged for a good deed done to a helpless man, by what means he has been made well, let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by Him this man stands here before you whole” (Acts 4:8-10). In fact, Peter was not apologetic about his conviction; he was so bold and courageous. But do you know what happened next? They called them and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.
But being “Untameable”, Peter and John answered and said to them: “Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you more than to God, you judge. For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard” (Acts 4:19-20). Hallelujah! Hear me friend, Christianity is not a cult or secret society one keeps away from people. It is a radical movement to populate heaven and depopulate hell (Matthew 11:12). Yes, it is a command to “Go Ye” into the world and preach the gospel, heal the sick, cleanse the leper, cast out demons, raise the dead, and baptise men in the name of the father, the son, and the Holy Ghost (Matthew 10:5-8, Mark 16:15-18). Hallelujah! Christianity is a contest, a warfare between light and darkness (Ephesians 6:10-18). You are light, and light conquers darkness. But for light to conquer darkness, it must shine. Therefore, shine forth your light, let men see your light and glorify your father who is in heaven (Matthew 5:16; Isaiah 60:1-2). Become Untameable by the devil. Hallelujah! You’re blessed. Have a Fantastic Week in God’s Presence. With Love, Elvis!
