You Have The Mind of Christ (Cont.)

Friends, greetings in Jesus Name. Last week we began a series titled, “You Have The Mind of Christ.” Today, we shall be looking at the concluding part of the message. We learnt from last week that the devil is so interested in our mind because he knows that he who controls your mind controls your life. Therefore, he will do everything possible to lay siege on your mind to have ownership and control of it. Does it not bother you the way some people think and act? Today many believers, tongue talking, and supposedly spirit filled, still battle heavily with immoral thoughts, lust, masturbation, drug, depression, just name it. They seem not to have control of their mind and action. As believers in Christ, God gave us a recommended way to live. In four consecutive verses of the scripture, the bible declares that, “The just shall live by faith” (Habakkuk 2:4, Romans 1:17, Galatians 3:11, Hebrews 10:38). In the same vein, the Lord has also given us a recommended way of thinking. The bible tells us in Philippians 4:8 saying, “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” The bible goes further to tell us, “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 2:5); “For we have the mind of Christ” (1 Corinthians 2:16). Hallelujah!
You know what? If your daily thoughts are contrary to the above scripture, then the enemy has laid siege over your mind. As a believer in Christ, you must be battle ready at all times, never entertain any evil thought, but to pull it down. When the devil tempted Jesus in the wilderness, you must understand that he did not engage with Jesus in a physical battle, it was a spiritual battle. What Satan did was to engage Jesus in a battle of reasoning. In his conversation with Jesus, he tried dropping thoughts in the mind of Jesus to accept. And Jesus knew how to defend himself without accepting or entertaining his thoughts. In his three consecutive attempts to lay siege on the mind of Jesus, Jesus replied to Satan: It is Written (Matthew 4:1-11). The devil had no choice than to leave him alone. Why? Jesus did not give him a foothold to land his missiles. The bible declares in 2 Corinthians 10:3-5, “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds; Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.” Like Jesus did, we must be vehement to pull down every attack of the evil one against our mind. Hallelujah!
The question is: What is the mind of Christ? The mind of Christ is a mind that has yielded completely to the will of God. It is a mind not under the influence of the devil. Yes, it is a mind that thinks God’s thoughts. Most of the time, the will of man gets so overwhelmed due to satanic bombardments of his mind, pressurising him to make a choice that negates the will of God for his life. But you must learn to stand against the devil and pull down his thoughts. A godly mindset is trained to meditate on God’s word and use it as a weapon against the onslaught of Satan. As a child of God, you must give no place to the devil in your life (John 14:30). You must become violent to keep your mind intact from demonic invasion (Matthew 11:12). Proverbs 4:23, “Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life.” And in Philippians 4:7 the bible says, “And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
You see, what touches your heart touches your mind, and vice versa. Therefore, you must guard it with all diligence. You must become intentional to start thinking about what you’re thinking. Never entertain an unhealthy thought. You must ask yourself: Does what I am thinking right now make sense? If not, throw it into the dustbin ASAP. Remember, thoughts are Satan’s stronghold. If Satan succeeds in putting just one thought in your mind, he can hold you bound in that place for a lifetime if you do not cast down such demonic thought. Today, some people have been held bound by thoughts such as: Nothing good comes my way; nobody likes me; I keep failing in life; I know she will disappoint me again; I am tired of this life; I think it’s better off dead than to be alive; I will commit suicide and leave this useless world; and so on. You know what? It pleases Satan to see you think that way. What he does is to pour more fuel to increase his devilish thoughts in your mind until you’re destroyed. Remember, your life moves towards your most predominant thoughts. Therefore, what you think you get. Why? “As a man thinks in his heart, so is he” (Proverbs 23:7). Never forget, you have the mind of Christ. Think like Jesus! God LOVES You and has great plans for your Future. Do not negate His plans and purpose for your life by entertaining wrong thoughts. Have a Blessed and Fantastic Week. With love, Elvis!
