You Have The Mind of Christ.

Friends, greetings in Jesus Name. Today, I will be sharing with you what I title, “You Have The Mind of Christ.” Let me begin by saying that, one of the greatest oppressions many are suffering today is the oppression of the mind. It can also be referred to as mental torment or torture. It’s perpetuated and masterminded by the devil to keep as many people harassed, terrorized, confused, mad, and even commit suicide. Today, mental health issues and sickness have become a huge dilemma in the world. Most hospitals and NGOs around the world are overwhelmed by work in this single area. Governments around the world are spending millions of dollars to quarantine and rehabilitate lots of their citizens that are going through mental distress and depression. Today, families are being broken apart as a result of spouses, children and relatives who are mentally deranged or violent. The book of Isaiah 26:3 says, “You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.” A mind that has not found refuge in Christ will be terribly harassed and terrorized by Satan (Mark 5:1-18). There can be no perfect peace for anyone whose mind is not steadfast, resting on the Lord. One major asset you have as a believer in Christ Jesus is the peace of mind. Someone may ask: Why is Satan unleashing so much attack on the minds of people? The answer is not far-fetched. It is because he who controls your mind controls your life (2 Peter 2:19).
As a result, the devil devises all manner of strategies to ensnare the soul of man. Today, many of our youths are entangled by the illicit use of drugs that are turning their brain crazy. Many of them are undergoing rehab, causing pain to their parents. The end game of these satanic attacks is to lay hold on the minds of the youth, alienate them from God, and make a mess of their destiny (John 10:10). Hear me, an undistracted mind that is set to fulfil God’s purpose is dangerous to the devil. Therefore, there’s a contention over the soul of man between the kingdom of light and darkness (Galatians 5:16-26). As a result, the devil has vowed that the mind of man will not have peace. Thus, the enemy keeps bombarding the mind with all kinds of thoughts to take ownership and have control over it. The story of Babel in the bible gives us a vivid illustration of the power of the mind and why Satan is so interested to have control over it. In Genesis 11, we learnt that the whole earth had one language and of one speech. And as the people journeyed to the east, they found a plain in the land of Shinar, and dwelt there. Then they said to one another, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top is in the heavens; let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth. The bible declares that the Lord came down to see the city and the tower which the sons of men had built. And the Lord said: “Indeed the people are one and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do; now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do” (Genesis 11:1- 6).
From the above story, we’re not only exposed to know the power of what the mind can accomplish, but also the danger of a mind that is being hijacked by Satan to accomplish his purpose. Listen, your soul is the seat of your personality which consists of your mind, will and emotions. Whenever your mind picks a thought – good or bad – that appeals to your emotion, and your will approves it, then action will inevitably take place to fulfill the desire. From this scenario, you can see that the mind is the gateway – the entry point – of every good or bad thing – that comes your way. Once Satan can break into your mind to have control over your thoughts, then your will and emotions will have no choice but to submit to the dictates of the mind. No wonder the bible says in Romans 12:1-2, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
Beloved, you must understand that when we became born again and gave our lives to Christ, our mind did not get born again. In fact, it was intact and as corrupt as it could be. What changed was our spirit man, which was once dead and alienated from God, but became alive in Christ at rebirth. But God gave us a task to do where our mind is concerned. The task is to renew our minds. No one but you can do it. Why? God cannot do for you what you can do for yourself. He has given you the power and ability to do so (2 Timothy 1:7; Luke 10:19). Now, how do you renew your mind? It’s simple! By studying and meditating on God’s word. Joshua 1:8 declares, “This Book of the Law – Bible – shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.” When you meditate on God’s word, what it does is that it transforms your mind – it changes your thinking – and helps you see things from God’s perspective. Now, the bible says in 1 Corinthians 2:16, “For “who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.” And in Philippians 2:5 the bible says, “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus.” Beloved, you have the mind of Christ. I will stop here for now. Next week, we will dig deeper to understand what the mind of Christ is all about, and how you can possess it. Hallelujah! You are Blessed. Have a Fantastic Week. With love, Elvis!
